You can also see the new trailer on the official website, which has finally been updated.

This trailer is awe-inspiring; even moreso than the last one (which I also thought was spectacular).

I think Marvel starting its own studio to do the movies in house, rather than in licensing agreements with other studios, was a brilliant move that will mean the movies are much more true to the vision of the comic books and the characters. Spider-man and X-men are the last of these.

Appears Marvel has got an impressive list of movies in the works, including a bunch of tie ins within the movies. Info from the efluxmedia website:

After the film opened strong in the weekend, occupying the first place in the Weekend BoxOffice Mojo top, with $100,750,000 in ticket sales, it’s no wonder Marvel Entertainment announced it was planning an "Iron Man" sequel that would be released on April 30, 2010.

In its earnings report Monday morning the company revealed its film release plans for the next three years, Reuters informs.

Apparently, four other movies based on Marvel superheroes are due to be released: "Thor," which will open June 4, 2010; "The First Avenger: Captain America," May 6, 2011; "The Avengers," July 2011; and "Ant-Man," of which the release date has not yet been communicated.

According to the Associated Press, Downey’s character, Stark, will also make an appearance in "The Incredible Hulk," which is due to come out June 13 from Universal Studios.

What's amazing is that the Avengers movie will have all four characters together(Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor).

This might be the Batman movie we have been waiting for since, oh, 1986? Sigh, why so long to really do it right?

...and then later in the year:

While DC/WB, in the meantime, is forming a committee to determine the validity of maybe, possibly starting a project on a Justice League movie sometime within the next ten years.

and they’ll butcher it because the script will have to be approved by a board room full of suits and run through focus groups and negoitations for product placements.

The only distinct product placement I remember from Iron Man was Audi, and they didn’t ram it down your throats in every scene.

And Stark Industries. Man, they could not go 5 seconds in that movie without flashing their logo up there. ;-D

When I first became a Bat-fan about 6 years ago, after reading all sorts of comic books and delving into the character's classic mythos, I went back and watched Batman '89 with the utmost excitement.

And how sadly disappointed I was. I had remembered it being SO much better as a kid.

And after watching the next three, I hung my head with resignation that the great Batman movie had never been made, and likely never would. Until Begins came out...I nearly stood up and cheered in the theater; they finally got it RIGHT!

Hopefully there’s more to come.

I'm fairly certain there will be at least a "Batman Begins 3." Two-Face is being set up as the main villain for that one in The Dark Knight. I've also heard we can expect Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Sadly, I read that Ledger had already signed on to make an appearance in that film, but with his passing, that leaves the Joker's role for part 3 in limbo. Do they recast, or write him out altogether?

With CGI, if they really want to include The Joker character, it's quite possible they could just do an overlay of Ledger's Joker on a new actor. With todays tech, it's possible for the dead to not only walk, but demand royalties.

It would add to the creepy factor.

The first time they showed the logo, I seriously did a double-take, cause at first I thought it a real company's logo (it's a blatant rip-off)....

Thanks for the heads up. They are clearly setting up the next movie. I hope they don’t screw it up like the last series and bring in too many villians. Every superhero series movies do that.

If a third movie with Two Face is successful, they might pull off the unimaginable fourth in a series. Bale has worked enough these last few years to be sure he doesn’t end up stereotyped as Batman. And he has the benefit of the slower pace to show his development as the hero in maybe four or even five movies. But, then where?

Have you seen the Rolling Stone review? It is here. There is also one up at Ain't It Cool. Both stop just short of saying it is a masterpiece. One word of warning about the RS review. Some easy extrapolation from it reveals a pretty big spoiler. Especially if you have watched all of the tv spots which outright shows it albeit very quickly.

Yes, I did see it, thanks! I know what spoiler you’re talking about (I wish he’d given a warning), but I’m trying to close my eyes and hope ****maybe**** he meant something else. Lol.

David Letterman was there, too, and talked about seeing the movie on his show. (He did praise it, but threw a lot of jokes in there too).
