Hundreds of feet of chain fencing have been stolen from a historic cemetery in Franklin, police said.
I thought we've driven past this cemetery many times, but I don't remember/recall the chain fence, so I google-imaged the Frankin Cemetery in hopes of seeing some pix to jog my memory.
Instead I found the most humorous link with these rotating images selling "very serene resting places" in the Franklin cemetery. I gotta meet the superintendent .... what a wonderful sense of humor he must have!
I never did find the photos I wanted ... but thought I'd share the chuckle. ;)
Could be the fencing was stolen to send to our southern US border to build the fence that the gummit won’t build.
I do like the little signs - they are very cute.
Here in Alabama they steal air conditioning units to recycle the copper. Home units and even big commercial units. It’s crazy.
Check the local prison.
Maybe a chain gang took it.
Where I am the local recycle guy takes your photo if you have ?able stuff..like a 17 century chain fence or 3 air conditioners etc
I took ends from 4 spools left over from an ATT Co contract job and got 429.00....60.00 for the old copper plumbing vent pipe from this ole house.
Looks like some of Sheriff Joe’s boys at work.

Having lived in Franklin, NH one has to realize that the chain is probably the only thing worth stealing. Franklin is the dumping grounds for released jail patrons from Manchester and Concord.
Someone took the copper piping and pop off valves from 9 water heaters at the apartment complex I manage.
It is beyond rediculus. People will work harder to steal and make less for their effort than they would with a job.
That’s why most people only drive through the town. ;)

My observation is that historic cemetaries tend to be in blighted areas.
I was curious what it looked like too :)
