Conditions should be favorable for development and already pretty close into the U.S.

The wind field size has doubled today, from 35 miles to 70 miles from the center.

Visually, it looks twice as good as it did 12 hours ago.

Looking at the satellite image, if someone authoritative told me it was a hurricane, I'd believe it. It looks like one, even if it's not.

LOL! I started to ask the mods to remove it but then I decided to let everyone have a chuckle at my expense. Enjoy! ;9)

Me and three other longrod fishermen caught and released well over 40 big bull reds off the San Luis Pass Pier as Gilbert made landfall off Port Isabel some years back. That was a true fish tale. Baits barely touched water and were eaten by 30 to 40 lb bulls. Been down there for Jerry and an older Allison but never anything like Gilbert for fishing in Galveston.

That thing’s coiling up. Yikes. Right over my head like Alicia? I hope not. Off to fill up the car (in case it’s needed to drain into the generator these next couple days).

We have a very small unit that can be put in a window. Keeping everything else low, our generator will pull it. It’s still hot but you at least have one small room that you can go to , to cool off. Others around here have small motor homes. Lastly someone posted a link awhile back where you can buy a tent ac unit. Where there is a need there’s a way:’)

Shear is now lower than it’s been the past few days and should drop or stay as low the rest of the way in.

It should strengthen through landfall, next few hours are critical to end strength.

I’m preparing as if it will be Cat 1. If it gets higher than that, I messed up.

My work is done. The cars are gased, possible outdoor flying objects have been secured, Igloo water coolers have been filled (just in case), ice is in the freezer, generator on stand-by, charcoal for the bbq pits. I think I have it all covered so I can rest now. :-)Man is it HOT outside!

My uncle called me late last night to ask if I knew about the storm. Nope.

We’ve been watching it all day at work (610/I10 West). Boss gave us a work optional day tomorrow as most of us live in neighborhoods that like to flood.

I would rather be trapped at home instead of at work.

We need the rain, but PLEASE don’t let it stall like Allison!

So you say...and you threw them all back, so the women can't verify the story. Funny how you caught bulls, and passed the story on to us.

;o)

BACK FROM THE GAS PUMPS, GENERATOR FUELD, BEER IN FRIDGE, CHARCOAL AND WOOD FOR GRILL, PROPANE FOR GAS COOKER, OK EDUARDO, BRING IT ON.

Hey Easty.

Went to the store on my lunch break to stock up a touch more. We're good here. The neighborhood around me floods, but this hous hasn't. It's my first storm in the new place. Could be exciting or could be a nothing. Tomorrow should be interesting. They're saying "squalls" strarting around 9am tomorrow all the way through 6pm, with it sitting on us between 4 and 6 pm.

Frabjous joy.

Say hi to the Mrs. for me. :-)

My uncle called me late last night to ask if I knew about the storm. Nope.

And that is why we are very lucky.

I knew when this developed Sunday afternoon that many people would not be aware of it until today, if then.

There was no time to do extensive prepartions or evacuate. Even if it's a moderate Category 1 storm, which is probably on the high side of the probabilities, we'll get through this without too much drama.

But if conditions were such that a Category 3 or higher storm formed yesterday, we'd be major league hosed.

I think cat 1 is about max given proximity to land and some northward jogs lately. It may even come in to the right of forecast path if it keeps up.

No joke.

I'll take the TS or Cat 1, but please move it out quickly.

I'm as good as prepped as I am going to get, guess we'll see when it starts raining about midnight.

The few clouds we have in the Houston area are already showing the signs of ciruculation.

I think we’ll be okay although there may be a moment or two when we’re not sure.

If tornadoes miss you, it should only be a little exciting tomorrow.
