I can sleep like that!

First, thank you all for the prayers. I got in from Mass. General and am going out soon - like a light.

BIL is still doing very well considering and is likely heading home for a while. You have no idea what a turn around he's done and we are so thankful to be able to talk to him now.

I have a kitten sleeping beside me often now....They are so sweet and soothing to watch...

I am making friends with the older kitten gradually but surely.

A lovely spot to be in.

Are the kitties back to normal?

How quiet it is when loved ones leave, it always amazed me at how empty the house felt.

“the Need for Prayer” photo is excellent and says what so many of us forget.

Prayer is a stronger need today, than ever before.

Your news is so wonderful, L. J. The Bible tells us ‘our days are numbered’ and only God knows how long he will be here. It is so wonderful that he came around and is doing this good. We can be thankful for each day. God Bless!

Not Much In Between
That you may be filled with all the fullness of God. —Ephesians 3:19

In the western panhandle of Texas is a small town named Texline. It had an ostentatious beginning in the late 1800s as a thriving center along a new railroad line. Within a few years, though, most of the shops had closed and the town’s population shriveled to about 400. In 2000, the population was still just over 500.

One online description of Texline says that it has “a city limits sign at one end, another at the other end, and not much in between.”

What a waste if the same description could be given of our spiritual journey! The journey of the Christian life on earth begins at the moment of faith in Jesus and ends when the believer goes to be with the Lord. This raises an important question: What happens in between?

A rich and full life is available to all who believe in and serve Jesus. The apostle Paul prayed that believers would “be filled with all the fullness of God” (Eph. 3:19). He wanted them to know life “abundantly” (John 10:10). But how many of us experience even a small part of the abundant life Christ promised to those who are faithful to Him?

God desires to give us a marvelous beginning with salvation and a great ending in Glory—with much in between.

Lord, thank You for all that You have done for me.
I commit myself to making the most of my spiritual journey.
I want to experience as much as I can of You and all
You have to offer to me. Amen.

A life given fully to God becomes a God-filled life.

Graphic by Billie

HEARTPRINTS

Whatever our hands touch-—
We leave fingerprints!
On walls, on furniture,
On doorknobs, dishes, books,
As we touch we leave our identity.

Oh please where ever I go today,
Help me leave heartprints!
Heartprints of compassion
Of understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness and genuine concern.

May my heart touch a lonely neighbor
Or a runaway daughter,
Or an anxious mother,
Or, perhaps, a dear friend!

I shall go out today
To leave heartprints,
And if someone should say
“I felt your touch,”
May that one sense be...YOUR LOVE
Touching through ME.

On the Road

Upon that dusty road of yesteryear
along the river now but a stream
I hear the passing of an age it seems
and see the vanished fading I fear

I cross the ancient bridge and follow on
to some distant destination unseen
where I may be renewed above the mean
and so I travel to that distant dawn

The road is oft long and lonely bent
and I weary at the miles I have crossed
wondering to reclaim the memories lost
along the well worn road I’m sent

For many reasons, we all seem to ‘overlook’ the road we travel in life, and yet if we take the time, it is often an epic worthy of study.

Wonderful, Johnn.

I hope you don’t mind that I’ve saved your poem for future use.

Reminds me of an old saying ...

It is not what you find along the road;
It is what you find at the end
