Carl Cameron on Palin-McCain tension
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/11/05/palin-africa-continent/

Did anyone else see this segment on O'Reilly tonight? This is really bad - if it's true, McCain made a big mistake picking Palin. I know she revved up the sleeping base (folks like me), but not knowing who is in NAFTA and not understanding Afria is a continent is absurd. I am actually having a hard time believing this...but Carl Cameron is pretty trustworthy.

I don't disagree with you but I could not tell you the names of all the officers in my local Republican Party off the top of my head but I have list of them around here if I need to know.

I am sure that Sarah Palin is much smarter than I am and so she probably knows who all are in NAFTA. I was simply stating that it didn't make any difference if she didn't know.

McCain was unworthy of Palin from the start. And yet she persevered on his behalf even as he repeatedly threw away opportunity after opportunity to own this race. She never said a harsh word about him, and never campaigned for her herself ... always for his benefit. She is impressive ... and these backstabbers are not.

The only mistake Sarah made was agreeing to be second to McCain on the ticket.

Sure, we were all energized by her, but the bottom line is that it was McCain’s campaign. She was put in the impossible position of defending him.

In retrospect, I wish she had stayed in Alaska and prepared herself for a 2012 run. She would have been just as electrifying and she wouldn’t have the baggage of the McCain loss. She would have been a shoo-in for the Senate seat that will no doubt open with Steven’s conviction. Now, she has to overcome the damaged goods image.

It’s almost as if McCain was reaching across the aisle when he picked her to forever scuttle her chances of leading the GOP back to its roots.

You got it right. Sowing seeds for her destruction. Carl Cameron, a partisan Democrat, was also the reporter who blew the whistle on Bush and his getting stopped when he was “18” for drunk driving.... one week or so before the 2000 election. I’m no fan of Carl Cameron and his journalism.

Are these the same McCain staffers who advised McCain to call Obama a good man

Actually - I believe these are the same McCain staffers that believe neanderthal is a working definition for evangelical. They have chaffed are her selection from the beginning.

McCain is simply clueless.

Looks to me like the Romney folks have already implemented their plan to insure Sarah doesn’t run in 2012.

Carl made himself their stooge.

Well said... I agree with every single word. Needs to be emailed to Sarah.

It was classic tabloid garbage. Sounded like something that would be and likely is in this weeks rags at the grocery checkout. If Cameron was a real reporter he would not use a story like this without someone willing to go on the record. Otherwise he is not reporting news, he is spreading gossip. I am pi$$ed at FOX for allowing this crap, they would never allow a story like this to be aired about Obama. Whoever is spreading this garbage needs to step forward and face some hard questions. Then I will decide if I believe it or not. Until then it is just trash talk.

I have my doubts about Cameron after this, he reported it breathlessly and seemed so excited to get this garbage out. He reminded me of- Geraldo. This is not reporting. A real reporter would not run with a story like this without someone putting their name and face out there. This kind of crap has no business on the news- if someone wants to accuse her of all this they need to be willing to do it in an interview, not spread it over the back fence.

If you and others really like Jindal you should not spam every thread with his name. It is beginning to sound like a lame infomercial. If you really want people to see him as a possiblity then don’t make us sick of hearing about him this early on.

I know very little about Jindal- the first post I saw about him tonight I thought I should find out more about him. I am now getting close to thinking I never want to hear about him again. I don’t really think that is the effect you and his other supporters want.

There is such a thing as oversell.

What are you even talking about? The posts I made are relating to which people are in the position to run for President in 2012 and relative to the thread it is in. Right now there are only 3-5 people. I don’t have a clue what other people are doing. If it bothers you so much that people are wondering who will take on zer0, the go over to DU or read about flowers. Why are you even reading about conservative politics? You obviously don’t follow it closely if you don’t even know who Jindal is.

Cameron is a LIMP WRISTED LIMP D... (now there’s a visual lol)
He’s a weasel on top of that and always has been. To ‘report’ this as news while we have a potential dictator, poised to take the reins in January, is an absolute disgrace and borderline treasonous. The media are absolutely responsible for this situation and for the end of America.
The Chickens have come home to rooosssstttt; the great part of that is that they will be roosting in their yards too! And I for one can’t wait to see that unfold!

It’s unreal that today November 5th the press (Fox and Olbermann and perhaps others) are still attacking her. They musst get good ratings doing it.

I don't think it's about getting ratings - we all see how the dinosaur newspapers and hollyweird are losing money, yet still keep churning liberal crap out there.

No, I think FAUX News is trying to curry favor with Lord Obama now - they have gone to the dark side & with the exception of a couple of shows - I refuse to watch them anymore. Hope their ratings go the way of PMSNBC.

I remember the day when you had to worry about the Fox emblem burning on your TV screen from never changing the channel. I refuse to turn them on anymore. In fact, I rarely even watch TV now.

They are still scared of her--on both sides of the aisle

There isn't even an aisle anymore, it's all one big group.
