the admin mods have the discretion to close out vanity threads also. chances are vanity threads will go down on their own now after the election.

BTW, the issue is communication of the most basic kind to the Freeper community. This isn’t a private email that goes back and forth between me and another friend. This is a community site.

I also made a brief visit to Free Dominion, the Canadian “sister” site. I wondered maybe if they had some posts on what happened to FR.

Forgive me for being out of the loop, but I was having trouble with FR all day. (My connection(s) kept timing out). Did we have any server problems here today or was it just with my computer?

I don’t know what happened. I couldn’t access the site all day right up to when I went to bed around 11:30pm. There is a way to check if a site is down. Go to the run window in your pc and type in “cmd”. From that window type in “ping” then type either the website name(ex:www.freerepublic.com) or the ip address then hit enter. A site that is connected to the web will reply with the ip address. A site that is down will return the “request timed out” message as did FR all day yesterday.
