A one-time motel in a small central Maine town could soon be offering an eye-opening way to start the day topless coffee shop waitresses. The Vassalboro Planning Board on Tuesday will consider a business permit request for a topless coffee shop on busy Route 3. The one-story building has also been the home to several other business ventures, most recently Mac Daddy's Pub at the Fat Cat Grille, which closed three or four years ago.
Neighbors have mixed opinions. Some say Vassalboro is a rural town and that a topless coffee shop would bring the wrong crowd. But others say they'd like to see a business make a go of it there.
Donald Crabtree of Ellsworth, who has applied for the business permit, told the Kennebec Journal that he didn't want to discuss his plan until after the planning board meets.

Once word gets out about what the women look like, men will stay away. Granola munchers may still drop in, however.

A quick look at Google Maps shows that Vassalboro, Maine is just off I-95.If One were to visit Maine and ask "Which way to East Vassalboro?" there's only a single reply that you'll get.
Any Marshall Dodge fans out there? Anyone? Anyone?

I was born and raised in Maine. My children were born and raised in Maine. Our family came to Maine in 1632 when it was the Maine district of Mass.

Man, you've got me beat. My family came in after the war, when they got their military service paid off in land instead of money.
Not much cash floating around in the 1780s.

There is plenty wrong with some of them, although there are always some diamonds hiding among the trolls. Besides, you can’t compare the poutine-eatin’ Frenchies with those County girls, who all have strong backs from pickin’! I’d take a County girl before a Washington County one.

Climate aside, I’d prefer it be closer to the Canadian side of ME. (too close to Augusta)

"Fellow was born in New Hampshire, and was all of six months old before he set foot in the Great State of Maine. When he died at the ripe old age of 90-odd, we wanted to do something nice for him, so we had
"He was almost one of us" chiseled on his headstone."
Appropriate, ain't it? Funny, but not if you're from away.

There oughta be a law - if you’re from away, you can’t vote in Maine elections. That’d fix a lot of problems.

yep. Massachusetts let Maine go in 1820, and have been buying it back one house lot at a time, ever since.
Blowing the Kittery bridge would likely go farther towards solving Maine's problems.
