PLACE YOUR BETS. HOW MANY SENATE "REPUBLICANS" VOTE FOR OBAMA'S PORK-FEST?

I say 30 minimum, with McCain leading the way.

OK, after almost an hour I got thru to each of my senators’ offices. “Thank you, sir, for taking the time to call us”.

I have concluded the politicians do hate us — Harry Reid says we smell, they have diverted the “tourons” to a Capitol Visitors Center—these people don’t like us and they certainly aren’t doing our business—ONLY THEIRS and business that will benefit their families and friends. This is why we left England, folks, where do we go now? Outer space?

“Thank you, sir, for taking the time to call us”.

Well, you've done what you could do until the next election cycle.

I got right through calling both of mine. So did my wife when she called this morning. In all four incidences the staffers were very polite and said they would pass the info along to the Senator. The guy who answered for Corker offered an unsolicited comment of "we've been hearing a lot of that sentiment." I thought that comment was pretty telling. Hopefully, they will heed the message.....

“If, though, he votes present does that make us both fools?”

Yup! :)

“What about Specter? I think he votes for it.”

I almost mentioned him, but sometimes Snarlin’ Arlen surprises.

“Orrin Hatch will not vote for this.”

Hatch has been behaving pretty squirrely the last couple years. I think those high, stiff collars have finally cut off circulation to his brain.

You may be on to something. Millions of Americans do hate their country and want to see it fail, perhaps to compensate for the collapse of the former Soviet Union. We have long underestimated the number of true socialists, using other labels, in the USA.

I agree 3. But that could change is there are major changes made to the bill in the Senate which looks likely, then all bets are off.

You know the Dems are going to vote in bloc and Olympia Smow is already publicly on board with the Dems so anything anyone else does is totally a waste. They have their 60 and include Snow’s stable mate of Collins and the games are over. The only thing the rest of the Republicans can do is to offer ammendments if they are allowed to be brought to the floor. As far as I know, the new Senate rules are not in place and if they are, Harry and the clan will just change them again to suit their agenda.

I am sure that there are plenty of democrats that are getting tons of pressure from home. There was a report in our morning paper saying that both parties want major changes to the bill. I am sure with more and more of the contents of this ripoff getting out the senate will be forced to make major changes. They may not be changes we want but there will be changes.

EVer notice how the socialists, though, have their dachas, and their personal chefs, and their limos and drivers, and oops!!!— don’t pay their taxes, unlike the rest of us Joe Six-paks in the middle class. Boy are we dumb, and boy, are we in for it now!

I was gonna list the handful I think will vote for it anyway but for now I’m just going to admire the effort that a long-time FReeper made to put it together.
