“Johnn.... I just want you to know that your poetry blesses me...!!”

That is a wonderful compliment, though I just write what I feel.

If I Didn't Have Animals

If I didn’t have animals . . . .
I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.
My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair.
When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel.
When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there.
I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable.
I would not have strange presents under my Christmas tree — dog bones, stuffed animals, toys, treats nor would I have to explain to people why I wrap them.
I would have money....and no guilt to go on a real vacation.
I would not be on a first-name basis with six veterinarians, as I put their yet-unborn grandkids thru college.
The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave him/her/it ALONE.
My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers.
My house would not look like a day care center, toys everywhere.
My pockets would not contain things like treats or an extra leash.
I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L, F-R-I-S-B-E- E, W-A-L-K or T-R-E-A-T. I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.
I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog/cat ties them down too much.
I'd look forward to spring and the melting of snow instead of dreading mud season.
I would not have to answer the question “Why do you have so many dogs/animals? “ from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get.

How empty my life would be.

Isn’t that the truth, yorkie.

Our pets are such an important part of our lives.

Thank you all for keeping me pinged. Happy Spring to all of you. Just wanted to give an upadate. The Giz is still alive and well. He's gained some function in his back legs...still is deaf but loves to eat and is our baby.

I don't know if you remember when we adopted Susie, our latest mix, that we nicknamed her "mini-me" because she is a 25 lb. clone of the 60 lb Rusty who we lost last spring

What was funny is for awhile last month some talk show pundits referred to Obama and his pundits as mini and maxi me. BUT by the time I tried to tell Mr. D. I had a hit in the name it was all dropped all over the MSM. So...she's just Susie.

Am frustrated by the times and politics but am hanging in there. Love and hugs to you all!!!!! dutchess

Pinging The Bachelor list. Did any of you see Melissa on Dancing With the Stars tonight? She did a fantastic job with her partner after only 48 hours of rehearsal and earned a good score.

Dancing with the Stars comes on here in five minutes. I didn’t know that Melissa was going to be one of the dancers. Thanks for the heads-up. I wasn’t going to watch this season because each season looks a lot like the last, just different faces, but I will tune in to see how Melissa does.

She’s on towards the end of the show. She was filling in for one of the original dancers that had an injury. She was just beaming with that smile of hers, think she’s gonna be alright.
