Awww...thank you, Jrabbit! That is incredibly sweet of you to say. The same could be said about each and everyone of you guys, too. You all make me laugh so hard! :-)

I have this on my homepage and it fits so perfectly with this thread.

The Clown's Prayer

As I stumble through this life,
help me to create more laughter than tears,
dispense more cheer than gloom,
spread more cheer than despair.

Never let me become so indifferent,
that I will fail to see the wonders in the eyes of a child,
or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.

Never let me forget that my total effort is to cheer people
make them happy, and forget momentarily,
all the unpleasantness in their lives.

And in my final moment,
may I hear You whisper:
"When you made My people smile, you made Me smile."

“The anti-gay accusations are really getting old. Look, Adam lost because he wasn’t as current as Kris and because many voters felt that he was too theatrical and that he arranged a lot of his songs in a similar fashion each week. Most couldn’t care less who he sleeps with at night.”

I guess we were both happy at last night’s results! I would like to add to your comment my belief that there was something going on between the AI/19E people and Adam’s people from the start. It was incredible the way they staged the guy, giving him national and world exposure leading up to his “win”, then his record deal which would make both of them lots of money. I felt totally manipulated. Someone made some good points here earlier—if Adam is “iconic”, why didn’t he have a record deal already? And why were the ratings for the finale the lowest since the beginning of AI? I’ve heard Adam pushed as having iconic worldwide appeal. My guess is AI/19E knows it will take worldwide exposure for him to make big money since his appeal here in the states is limited. I feel about Kris like I felt about Carrie Underwood when she won. She was not a “performer”. Wow—look at her now! Can’t wait to see Kris as he uses Idol as a platform to jump off into a professional career—I think that’s as it should be.

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?

Lisa: No.

Homer: Ham?

Lisa: No.

Homer: Pork chops?

Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.

Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

FReeping is like ham to Homer, you just won't be able to stay away.

I downloaded them all, and will be burning my album with 15 of his songs this afternoon.

He has one of the best voices I’ve heard. His songs caused my first concerted effort to obtain new music in probably thirty years.

If folks want to dismiss him because of his lifestyle, I’m not going to fault them for it.

What I will say, is that he was one of the most considerate participants in this season’s competition. He was genuinely happy for Kris last night, and I think he had every reason to be upset about Kris winning.

Folks, Kris is a good guy. I also think he represented himself very well during the final round of competition with Adam. That being said, there isn’t any question about who has the best voice, is the best performer, and will make the first $100 million dollars.

For my final submission of evidence to buttress my above claim, please realize that Kris even said, “You should be up here to Adam.”

He was right. Good luck to both these guys.

I don’t know if anyone else saw an “after broadcast” interview with Adam last night, but he went into the speech patterns and cadance of the openly gay guy. A little lispy, etc. He had never allowed himself to talk that way on TV during the tapings. He seemed to be outing himself. But he made the choice to AVOID that speech pattern during the competition, I noticed.

Sounds like everything on AI was an 'acting performance' for Adam, and the real Adam is now appearing.

Yes we do, as I did also but was said to possibly need a counselor. Then I was accused of not knowing homosexuality was against God, I should read the Bible, grow up and respect my elders.

Forgive me for getting wrapped up in negative talk, I just tired of reading all the attacks on a kid with a great voice just because he’s gay. Good for Kris, he was great with Keith Urban, they harmonized perfectly their voices sounded identical at times. Adam will do very well, IMO, freely like Daughtry did.

Ruben’s expression was the best ... I don’t think he was sure whether that was totally staged or not...

“You mean the part about casting the first stone? Or about the splinter and the log? Possibly the search for the lost sheep?”

No, I specifically meant the parts where He says homosexuality is wrong.

Your “parts” don't make the above sin OK. I'm thinking if God put it in the Bible it is important.

And here I thought it was liberals that attacked Christians for standing up for their beliefs? Who’d a thought you’d be getting attacked for defending your beliefs on a CONSERVATIVE site? Go figure.

Lots of cherry picking out of the Good Book around here.

Ignoring the parts that don’t suit their opinions at the moment.

We were at my cousins last night. They were disappointed that Adam lost. I asked if they voted and she said no and told her son, ‘see you should have voted’. I wonder how many complainers didn’t vote?

1) Chris owned the teenage girls. And if you have them, you usually win.

2) A lot of viewers were turned off by the judges constantly pimping and swooning over Adam. No one likes to be told how to vote.

3) Adam's shrieks were way over-the-top and overdone, and designed purely to sway the parts of the audience easily impressed by vocal range.

4) Although Adam's vocal range is indeed impressive, his style range is decidedly less so. Chris beats him in that category. ...and it's a very important one.

Well said.....

He is no worse morally than some of the FReepers who make some pretty nasty sexual comments on some of the threads with pictures of hot ladies on them.

We are each entitled to our own opinions.

tina , I just gotta ask, are things too slow for you over at du that you come here? Your constanting pimping for gays would seem far more in place over at du.
