Report: Mel Gibson's girlfriend pregnant
UPI.com ^ | May 18, 2009 | UPI

Mel Gibson's girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva is pregnant with the actor-director's child, an unidentified source told the U.S. celebrity news Web site TMZ.com.

The insider said Grigorieva, a 39-year-old singer signed to Gibson's Icon Records label, is in the second trimester of her pregnancy.

Robyn, Gibson's wife of 28 years, filed for divorce April 13.

The former couple, who have seven children together, reportedly had been separated for about two years.

TMZ.com said Gibson has told his soon-to-be-ex-wife and his older children about his girlfriend's pregnancy.

I always admired them as what you COULD do, Hollywood or not, if you loved each other. Seems I was wrong. I think she stood by him thru lots of garbage. My prayers for her.

Clearly you are more in the do loop than I.
On the other hand, women age. Thankfully my husband doesn’t think like you do.

I guess, and I think he was treated very badly. But I don’t understand why that would make someone cheat on their wife. Call me old fashioned, but I happen to think marriage is a sacred trust.

I’m with you. I feel no glee at this at all. It is sad for all involved. Truly. Especially for the little baby to be.

He went bonkers when he filmed Passion of the Christ. I don’t think he has been normal since.

Yes, babies are at the whim of supposed adults. I think there are fewer and fewer adults around. Maybe there never were many and I was just blessed to be surrounded by them as a kid.

Perhaps he was like this before, but H’wood decided to *out* him because they hated his movie?

I’ve followed him for years and the change in him after Passion was dramatic.

We both were then. I think Dennis Prager made a really good point the other day about the values and how they are changing, particularly with what we now see in Europe. For years, people thought the socialistic policies were just fine because people were still basically acting properly but that’s because of the capital from the previous generations. He said that eventually there will be NO capital and I think that is what we are going to be seeing in this country very soon. For example, the children of today are often 3rd generation of divorce. Grandma and grandpa were divorced; mom and dad were divorced; and they are divorced. Eventually all of this instability is going to HAVE to take its toll. Society does not operate smoothly with so much chaos and instability. Stability is an important factor in any society. Also, as a college student, you would not believe how many people I meet that have no religious upbringing AT all - none. Not that they are leaving it or ignoring it as many people I knew did in their youth, only to come back later, but never HAD any kind of foundation.

“Clearly you are more in the do loop than I.”

Can we agree that there isn’t anything stopping a man leaving his wife of 35 years...

It feels like that to me also, but I didn’t really know him, I only knew what I read. So, as far as I can tell, maybe he changed OR maybe he just stopped being protected, or maybe some of both.

For many years I have looked at our culture and thought, people don’t seem to understand how long and hard the road to a civilized society was. And they think they know better. As you said, a stable society is extremely important. And they have been dismantling this one since I was a kid. I think it’s just about come apart. And most people won’t have a clue what happened.

Before The Passion he was known as a happy go lucky actor and he was great in Lethal Weapon 4.

I don’t excuse his adultery, but he really changed after that. Neither one of us has had the entire world ganging up on us publicly and I don’t think I would handle it well.

He found religion, wanted to show the world, and then got bashed nonstop. Called all sorts of vicious things and supposedly before he became born again he was an an alcoholic.

I believe marriage is a sacred trust too; it’s just at one point he broke from it all and now he’s spiraling.

LOL that’s not what you said. You clearly blamed his family for this. Unless you have more information than the rest of us, I don’t know why you would say that.
It’s obvious a man can leave his wife at any point, I don’t control that.

And that all makes sense. It may have been enough. It’s been painful to watch, because I admired him and his marriage and family life (from what was printed). Plus, I disagree with the poster who said he was not a good actor. He absolutely is (or was) plus an excellent director. I hope he finds his life again. What a mess.

” And they have been dismantling this one since I was a kid.”

That’s because they were never taught how to maintain it. Our grandparents understood that, the younger generations don’t.

As a society, we’ve been doing so much experimenting that we’ve forgotten the fundamentals in maintaining a society that can essentially survive. We’re killing off our babies, experimenting with our children, and so busy with the latest trendy diesase that we’re recklessly drugging our teenagers and squandering the future of our young adults.

The bricks under our feet are crumbling because so many people are just dancing the days away and not stopping to maintain the roads. We can’t go forward because they aren’t working to build the road into the future.

Not to mention that your wife got old and fat and looks like a mule, you’re kids only call you by your initials ATM and you got fabulously rich and can have any woman you want.

I have yet to see a picture of his wife where she's "fat". Having had what...7 children...she looks pretty good.

I never thought she was a looker and didn't see why such a good looking man would marry her but "fat". Not from the pictures I've found.
