I take it all back. The Huffington Post never show Helen Thomas pictures, that’s why they get three times the hits :0)

Yes, the Wrangel island mammoths were an interesting thing. I believe they had become dwarves. It’s too bad they were killed off, it would be cool of some were to have survived until the present.

They became dwarves because of scarcity of resources. They say one of the ‘string figures’ ( like cat’s cradles) the Eskimo make is a figure of a mammoth.

No, they became extinct because of the lack of Mammoth-dating agencies.

"Wrangel brides are dying to meet you!"

That’s right, they did find evidence of Dwarf Mammoths.

Which just goes to show the wonder and joy of language. We have a situation where the phrase “Dwarf Mammoths” is completely correct and has no logical inconsistencies.

I’ll skip past the requisite, “Some people have too much time on their hands.”, to say that that is excellent.

I am still laughing at your reply!

Indeed a dwarf mammoth is a contradiction in terms.

“They’ll figure out that they’re about 4400 years old, once the dating methods are actually accurate.

How do you know?”

A huge body of evidence points to a major cataclysm about 4.5k years ago. The mammoths are part of a huge wider issue of strange animals that belong in a completely different world - wooly rhinos, giant animals of various kinds, huge insects that couldn’t get enough oxygen through their skin to live today, indicating either a much higher oxygen level or a much higher pressure. And of course reptiles, which never stop growing, which is why there is a particular issue of old, giant reptiles, and relatively recent societal memory of these “dragons”.

The dating methods are wildly inaccurate. For one thing the giant insects demonstrate clearly that the atmosphere has changed in a substantive way, so any presumption of steady levels of anything is out the window. The dating methods for longer periods, K-Ar etc have equally ridiculous assumptions.

Whether or not you believe the Bible as a matter of faith, society should accept that people a few thousand years ago were extremely smart, and preserved a record for us. Instead society has the assumption that people a few thousand years ago were primitive and dumb, but the unfortunate truth is that society now is more primitive in its behaviour than society was a few thousand years ago.

Every piece of factual, checkable science backs up the biblical account of a massive cataclysmic flood in which water came up from under the crust of the Earth, from the vast supplies which modern science finally got around to finding out about in the last 10 years or so (google arctic ocean of water under mantle)

There are well funded organizations started by people like Rockefeller which actively promote an atheistic worldview, regardless of the actual evidence.

I sympathize with Christians who feel that Christianity must accept the “established science”, because I used to feel like that. But the truth was I had done ZERO research into the facts, and was basing my view simply on what I had been told to accept without question. The fascinating truth that deserves personal research, is that the Biblical account has at least as much evidence in its favor as the things we were taught in school, and in many cases more so.

I posted a similar remark to this one earlier today, but I am going to do it again. Why do you guys, evos and creationists, go at it constantly. You are not going to change each other's minds and it is just silly. I mean, here, listen to yourselves, "The earth is 6000 years old!", "is not!", "Is too!", "Is not and your stupid!"," Is too and your dumber than me!". Believe me, this is exactly the way you all sound(or read if you wish).

You will never change anyone's mind, and here is the money quote: It doesn't matter what you believe, as long as you believe it then that is all that counts. Either one of you, evos or creationists, who tries to force their beliefs on the other, are no better than liberals trying to force all their BS on us.

Grow up, get a brain, that goes for both sides of the issue.

I don't have a category and I don't "go at it" at all.

I never post these things....I believe they are counter productive to the conservative movement as we have to deal with the gun control, economy(read that as the new American Marxism), right to life, the military and the WOT, and Judeau-Christian tradition.

I believe that God set evolution into motion and only post on these things when creationist/intelligent design folks try to twist science to fit their rigid reading of the bible.

on the other hand I see people posting what I consider Luddite BS and wont let it stand if I see it.

I do however, believe there is self serving in the scientific field, especially if your grants require you to grasp hold on bogus science like antropomorophic global warming. There are no politically motivated grants given to anthropologists however.
