Best beer?
Goose Island Honkers Ale. On draft. At the brewpub in Chicago.

My vote for best beer is Pilsner Urquell. A very fine beer, I recommend that every one try it.

Not directly from the tap mind you. But you know how they make Corona don't you? Mexican nationals get drunk on Tequila and piss into Corona bottles.
I read that on the interwebs so it must be true.
But seriously Corona? I mean, that's NOT Bier.

Ah yes, Urq. The original Pilsner. Good stuff.
I love these threads. A great distraction from all the depressing crap going on.

A great American beer, Yuengling! For a lager, Yuengling pours pretty dark and has a nice thick head. In my opinion, it is one of the best American lagers, especially when compared to Budweiser, Coors or Miller.

Ahh man you know I was just kidding right? It just amuses me that people always use that phraseology. It’s not my favorite beer but I wouldn’t turn one down if it was 95deg. and it was ice cold.

I once drank Pilsner Urquell on tap when I was on leave in West Germany. It was my favorite beer, with Budweiser Budvar on tap a close second.

I haven't either. But I don't call it beer. It's um yellow, carbonated water.
Beer might have been invented by the Sumarians, but the Europeans perfected it. Probably their greatest contribution to mankind.

The only time I’ve ever drunk Egyptian Stella was when I vidited the Soviet Union in 1972. Stella tasted fabulous—but only when compared to Moskovskoye, the local Soviet brew. It seems the Egyptians sent their beer to Russia in exchange for military hardware, since they had nothing else to export.

you do know what the secret ingredient in Corona is?
Wild guess, urine?

Your right about it being down the list of Mexican beers, Pacifico and Modelo Especial to name two.

1. Newcastle Brown Ale - I could easily drink this one any day of the week.
Try cooking with it. Take a six pack of Newcastle. Pour one in to a slower cooker, along with a cup of orange juice and a nice piece of flank steak. Let it go about six hours, then shred the meat and let it sit in the liquid another hour. Serve with the other five Newcastles.
I agree! Try this:
3 lbs stew beef - braised
2 lbs onions sliced thin
2 garlic cloves through a garlic press
3 Tablespoons flour
1.5 cups chicken broth
3/4 tsp thyme
1 bay leaf
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 Tablespoon cider vinegar
1 bottle NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE
Braise the beef, remove. Saute the onions with 1/4 tsp salt, add garlic and flour. Add chicken broth, BEER, and everything else. Bake in covered pot (dutch oven) at 300 for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Sofa king good! Known as Belgian Beef Stew or for our more refined members Carbonnade a la Flamande.
I made this one night as a challenge from my Salvation Army Captain to see what I could do with canned beef. Man, I was hitting the gravy all night.
Newcastle is great. Even tastes good at room temp.

Yep. Spotted Cow is popular here. Good beer, especially if you can find it on tap at a pub.
