I can see Corona winning the poll. It’s not my favorite, but its light body and mild taste probably appeals to a lot of casual beer drinkers.

As for the rest of the list:

2. Heineken: Oh, how I’d like to make a Blue Velvet quote here. :-). Instead, I’ll just say I much prefer another Dutch beer called Grolsch.

3. Guinness Draught: I speak blasphemy here, but I’m not a huge stout fan. I will say Guinness is the standard, but it’s just not a style I’m all that wild about.

4. Stella Artois: A very tasty lager. I love Belgian beers - they try things that no one else seems to think of.

5. Budweiser: I never cared much for Bud. I’m not a beer snob or anything - I drink Rolling Rock and Stroh’s - I just don’t care much for the taste of Budweiser.

****

BTW, if I got to pick the top five, my list would be:

5. Any brand of Weizen (German wheat beer). I’m a big fan of the style.

4. Rolling Rock - My uncle says it tastes like panther pee, but I love it. Good brew when you’re eating spicy food.

3. Sapporo Black - don’t know if they make this anymore, but man alive was that good beer!

2. San Miguel lager.

1. Newcastle Brown Ale - I could easily drink this one any day of the week.

What's the first thing they tell you NOT to do when you go to Mexico?

Don't drink the water.

What is the main component of beer.....?

I rest my case.

Guinness cause its Irish

For taste though I like American beer. Samuel Adams being my favorite.

The beauty of this thread is that all the posters could sit around cracking open cases of brew......and we would all be happy FReepers...;) I haven’t seen a brew yet I couldn’t drink, except perhaps Coors....;)

Ew. Don’t fruit the beer.

Blech, I prefer Pacifico or Bohemia. Corona is the “Schlitz” or “Meister Brau” of Mexican beer (and I use the term “beer” loosely).

I’d rather have Blatz.

Do they even make that anymore? :-)

I imagine that if advertising budgets were ranked, they’d reflect a similarity.

There is absolutely no accounting for some folk’s taste in beer, politics or women exceptin’ for generous helpings of flat out stupid.

A couple of domestic pale ales y’all might enjoy (I sure do):

Magic Hat #9 (Vermont)
Bear Republic Racer 5 (California)

They are very nice extra cold, with Cuervo magarita mix poured in instead of lime. Also rather tasty with Limon Rum.

Corona is pretty awful stuff. The only beer out there that apparently needs a lime wedge to make it drinkable.

My vote for best beer is Pilsner Urquell.
