CORONA Extra was yesterday voted the world's favourite beer in a poll of more than two million Facebook users.
The Mexican-brewed lager - usually served with a segment of lime - topped the list with more than 645,000 votes.
It easily beat Dutch favourite Heineken, which received 594,475 votes, and Ireland's Guinness which came third with 396,276.
The independent poll was launched by the social networking site.
Chris Lewis, director of Corona's British distributor Wells and Young's, said: "It is a premium beer and deserves to be the Facebook favourite as it is among the world's biggest selling beer brands."
The top five beers were: 1. Corona Extra, 645,445 votes; 2. Heineken, 594,475 votes; 3. Guinness Draught, 396,276 votes; 4. Stella Artois, 350,825 votes; 5. Budweiser, 343,493 votes.
And you’ve tasted piss to form the comparison?
In colonial days (North American), making beer was a form of water purification. Even children drank the low alcohol beer that was made from the mash after the first batch of "good" beer.
I imagine that if advertising budgets were ranked, they’d reflect a similarity.
There is absolutely no accounting for some folk’s taste in beer, politics or women exceptin’ for generous helpings of flat out stupid.
No, but I buy my beer from one at the Circle K.
A couple of domestic pale ales y’all might enjoy (I sure do):
Magic Hat #9 (Vermont)
Bear Republic Racer 5 (California)
Try cooking with it. Take a six pack of Newcastle. Pour one in to a slower cooker, along with a cup of orange juice and a nice piece of flank steak. Let it go about six hours, then shred the meat and let it sit in the liquid another hour. Serve with the other five Newcastles.
I heard that Corona is actually the old Schlitz recipe (from the 60’s).
>>Id rather have Blatz.<<
Ah, yes, the carbonated turpentine named after the sound you make spitting it out.
Oh MAN does that sound good!
I did it a few weeks ago and it was amazing. We served it on tortillas with a fresh vinegar-based slaw. I tried to make it again a week later, but didn’t have the Newcastle, so I used a lager. Not the same thing at all. I might try with Guinness next time.
They are very nice extra cold, with Cuervo magarita mix poured in instead of lime. Also rather tasty with Limon Rum.
Dead center on target.
The average 20 something (or less) does not know that beer turns to skunk-pi$$ due to light; that very same light that other breweries cancel out by using dark glass bottles.
There is a solution to fix that bad taste. Anyone want to guess what it is? That's right! To get rid of that bad flavor you add... lime juice!
Carona is beer for liberals. They are ignorant enough to believe it is trendy to pay too much for spoiled beer and limes, and actually think they are trendy doing it because the TV tells them so.
Is that Oscar Wilde in amongst those ladies?
Good LORD man, never do that again! The Egyptian Stella is literally putrid. I lived there for 3 years......THAT is not Stella, it’s what morons that don’t drink give to tourists.......ack!
This survey kinda explains the last Presidential election.
My vote for best beer is Pilsner Urquell.
LMAO!
