The man behind the world's biggest online Michael Jackson fan club has said heartbroken followers of the star have committed suicide because of his death.
Gary Taylor, president and owner of MJJcommunity.com, said he understood the tragedies had mostly taken place outside of the UK but he believed one may have been British.

I saw some video the other night of some event that he was attending, and along the red rope was what looked like a middle aged normal looking guy standing along the rope crying and screaming like a schoolgirl at an old Beetles gig.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Japan hasn’t had a few. The society is westernized as far as popular culture but has not had the long “judeo-christian” cultural influence against suicide.

I expect that type of fan obsession from teens or maybe some unstable twenty-some year olds. Michael Jackson's fan base is probably up around their late thirties and early forties by which time they should have matured at least a little.
