A refreshing post

One thing I find interesting is that back then, if the Pharoah said you got a big check if you could explain the dream, he actually kept his promise - Joseph was given a very high positon in Egyptian society. Today, it would be something like Secretry of the Interior or Ambassador to England....cool, great meals and high society...but back then, a promise was a promise...today, it’s just another payoff.
Love the ancient Bible History. Thank you!
Thanks for the story. Very interesting....

And if Bama had that Sphinx headdress he would look like a modern day Pharaoh... Anyone wonder if our Bama has had his heart hardened?
He left out one important part.
When Joseph died, the Torah says he was prepared for burial and morned for a certain number of days - I believe it was 70 days. That was the time frame the Egyptians normally took to prepare an important body for mummification and burial. Bob Brier, the New York Egyptologist pointed this out. He also mentioned that Moses is an Egyptian name, not a Hebrew one - e.g. Thutmose, Ahmose, Kamose. There is also a refernce to HOW the Egyptians should observe Hebrew women giving birth as they sat on a stool - the usual position for a woman who was giving brith in Ancient Egypt.
Was moving to Egypt kinda like going to California during the Dust Bowl?
I keep getting this image of a Joadstein family loading up to move to greener pastures during the drought with Henry Fonda in the role of Joseph.
I can see it now, Fonda with that Midwest twang, saying”Gosh, sure looks to me like we’re gonna have seven good years and seven bad ones.”
