The stereotype of Aggies as dumb has to do with their unaffected worldview. They do not have a lot of inner conflicts. They know their parents love them and that God has a plan for them. They love their country and their state.

I lived in College Station for 2 years while my now-wife got her MBA from A&M. It was quite an eye-opener for me, having lived my life in the SF bay area, where their is an undercurrent of anger and hostility towards anyone not in your peer group. (What, you're not a one-legged transgender vegan? You suck!)

Bump into a guy in a bar in California, and you get hassled. Bump into an Aggie at the Dry Bean and you'll make an new friend, and get invited over to their BBQ the next day.
