I'll keep this short and sweet . Have always owned PCs . Not a fan of Microsoft or Gates , but XP works well in the computer I have owned for 7 years . Hate having to purchase anti-virus protection and get tired of all the annoying , daily updates . But PCs give you more bang for the buck , and money is tight for me right now . Windows 7 is just around the corner , and by all reports it sounds like a winner . But I read just yesterday that Apple will release a re-freshed iMac very soon with more bang for less buck . I've been toying with the idea of switching to Apple for a while , and this new iMac might just be enough to make me go for it .
I am not a gamer . I use my computer mainly for basic stuff like internet , email , burning CDs , and watching Youtube videos . So I am thinking that I would not utilize a lot of the finer things Apple has to offer .
A dilemma of sorts .
What would you advise ? And please try to be as unbiased as possible . ; )
How many have you heard say, "I used to have a Mac but I'm so much happier now that I have a PC?"
There's your truth. Disregard the fanboys.
Get one of each and avoid indecision. ;^0
I’d say “Get the Mac”. You won’t be locked out of Windows at all.
My MacBook Pro currently can boot and/or run in a virtual machine Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6), Windows Vista, and Linux (Fedora 11).
Based on this, I can run darn near any program written on the planet, and develop for all platforms at the same time, but with the security and ease of having Mac OS X as the “home base”. It’s nice!
If you shop at wholefoods get a Mac, if you shop at Costco get a PC.
“Mac is rather gay.”
oh and we wuz friends. :(
S, a Mac lover, not gay (neither is my Mac)
I figure that by the time it's done, it will be "256-bit".
An Apple store is about as familiar to conservatives as a Southern Poverty Law Center membership card
but the graphics are great
I own PCs
Quickbooks has a Mac version, which is arguably better and demonstrably more stable than the PC version. They share the same file formats, too. I just converted one of my clients over to Mac with native QuickBooks being a selling point.
I’ve had several of both.
Get a Mac. You won’t regret it.
Get a Mac Mini

I have owned 2 Macs now, both notebooks. Very satisfied with both.
I bought my wife a Mac to replace her Windows Toshiba laptop. I got tired of being the tech support when the toshiba would act up. It was well worth the money I paid.

Get an iMac. I love mine.
As a long time user of computers and the internet (I worked for Xerox PARC and had an account on the ARPAnet), I’ve seen and used (and administrated) virtually every computer out there. If you want to simply get your work done and have fun ding it, get a Mac. You’ll never regret the move and will have the most solid consumer machine on the market today. I used to use Solaris, Linux, Winders, et. al. until I figured out that I was spending as much tie compiling or fixing problems as I was actually using the machine for the purpose I bought it. Since getting my Mac, I get more done in less time, with much less stress...
Wait for windows 7 then get a PC, much cheaper and w7 runs like a raped ape. I only removed it when my license expired but used it for months with great results.

and they have that cool backlit apple thing happenin’ on the cover too. Stylin’!
I use a PC also (and a few assorted linux and pc servers). But then I don’t have a computer fetish, just a computer need.
it smells inside. Sticker I was given by certain Woz.
If Kewl isn't as important as cash and getting things done, then take half the price of a Mac (or less), buy a PC and look around the web if you need some help. Help is easily available if you have a bump in the road, it's free, and for the PC it doesn't come attached to a lot of smart assed remarks about how retarded you are. If you decide later that you should have gotten the Mac, just get FreeBSD (which is free in the dictionary sense of the word) and install ‘Enlightenment’ or some other interface you like.
Mac is a PC running BSD and a very, very, expensive Apple windows manager, that's all.
Regards
If you are gay BUTT a MAC,
If you are not gay, Buy something that is ruined by Windoze.
