Potholes? The race was stopped because of potholes? What? Was Mayor Funky a consultant on the NASCAR track?

I hope your day wasn’t totally ruined, but it doesn’t sound like it was a really sucessful raceday.

They had to stop the race twice to patch holes in the asphalt. Well one hole that got bigger the second time around.

The race just finished....Junior came in second. Woo Hoo!! They didn’t have a 30-car pileup like on I-70.

No kidding - heard there were two major, series wrecks, one had 50 cars and the other about 40. Sheesh. Glad it was a long way from the road to the range.

Nice Beretta, you planning on shooting Std velocity or full bore Stingers etal?

Gunshop/range had a lot of tire kicking going on. They had just bought a large collection of Smith and Wessons, numbers that I can recal include 14, 15, 18, 27, 28, 29, 36, 37, 38, and full set of stainless ones as well. No flat out bargains but a long time since I’ve seen that many for sale at one shop for a reasonable amount of money. Head scratching time, again.

I get the greatest reliability in the Beretta with any brand of 40gr HV bullets, so that's what I'll stay with. No Remingtons, I haven't found an autoloading handgun yet that likes Remingtons.

It sounds like someone has a real treasure trove of Smiths. You don't see those particular model numbers very often now, except for some of the modern repros Smith is turning out.

I'm still looking for a S&W Model 63 with 2-inch barrel. Although less so, now that I have the Beretta as a pocket warmer.

I guess I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Smith and Wesson. The new ones are probably fine weapons, but tend to look too funky and high-tech (and therefore bulkier). Eight-shot .357s, ten-shot .22s, rails and funny grip styles just don't seem natural.

And that's just talking revolvers. The old ones look classic, but a bit too minimalist and spindly to me. I guess I grew up, Smith-wise, on products from the 1960s to 80s. I don't have much of an opinion of their autoloaders one way or another, except for the Model 41. One of the guys in college had one, and it was just beautiful.

Yeah...when I came out here, my oldest niece was a few weeks old. Now, she’s over four, a little chatterbox who is learning her letters and numbers, and she has two younger sisters.

Time flies!

For that matter...remember the brother who was at Entmoot? He’s married and they’re expecting *their* first. Very cool...but it still throws me for a loop sometimes. I hear “Sunrise, Sunset” playing in my head once in awhile....

There were a couple that will receive another look next time we’re at the range/gunshop. Mostly suffered from sensory overload, hopefully some of them will have been adopted by then.
