Giving America a Vision Implant—Crayfish, Neurochemicals and the Future of Your Civilization

The Great Recession of 2008 and 2009 could be a turning point in history. It could be the event that shocks us into a new vision of ourselves, our past, our future, our mission, and our destiny. Or it could be the prelude to a long decline. Will that turning point be for better or for worse? Will it be a new beginning, a new opportunity to see what we've achieve with brand new eyes and to build on our foundations brilliantly? Or will it be the end? The beginning of the Chinese Century?

The answer depends on something that may sound totally irrelevant. Our perceptions. Our view of things. Without a vision a people will perish, says Proverbs. Why? Because a vision of a goal, a destination, a promised land, a view of a destiny that can uplift all of human kind, opens a vast reserve of energies. Not the energies that come from solar panels, wind farms, nuclear plants, coal, or oil. The energies of the human spirit. The energies of your spirit and mine.

Are we Americans suffering from a “vision” deficit disorder?

More on Howard Bloom here:

No, I do not think we are suffering from a vision deficit disorder.
We need a faith lift.
Comes by hearing.

Thanks for the reply, spank-a-lib.

Your name made me LOL.

Hearing our Creator?

I did notice that Howard Bloom’s new book is getting good reviews from both people of faith and people of reason.

I guess that is how this latter group prefers to think of themselves.

I am concerned that this deep recession could turn into a full-fledged depression.

And I think Bloom may be on to something here.

I heard yet another Obot this morning on Fox speak of how Obama “inherited” this mess.

Besides the fact that it’s easy to refute that argument.

That tactic is not going to fly and it’s not going to help.

I honestly don’t know what Obama’s core values are.

I am hoping and praying that he figures that out for himself.

And that his core values coincide with Divine Will.

Only then will Obama’s vision take flight.

And I don’t believe that “Europeanization” is what God would have for this country.

***

I should probably qualify that.

For example, I favor how the Swiss do HC.

No govt-run anything, not even Medicare or Medicaid.

Everyone is covered and no rationing.

And they spend .60 for every 1.00 we spend.

Private insurers don’t profit from basic coverage, but they do profit from supplemental plans which many if not most Swiss purchase.

Glad to bring a smile!
My comment was meant more as a riff of general principle regarding the need for sight...new, improved, better, higher...that’s all good and frequently alluded to,

yet it dawned on me that eyes...’seeing’ is a problem for sinful man, as it is the lust of the eyes and the pride of life that are our common failure...and walking by faith (it is also described as evidence of things NOT seen) NOT by sight is the ‘way to go’ as it were.

(I’m in rehab, trying to learn to use shorter sentences)

FRegards
