Recently, strange things are happening with my Outlook Express 6. I will compose, then send a message. OE will give me the "sending" notice, then it will say "error," and the message will remain in my inbox. However, I believe the message actually was sent after all, and I confirmed by sending a test message to one of my alternate email accounts.
In other words, the message apparently is actually sent, even though OE implies it wasn't, and even though the message remains in outbox, not in "sent" box.
What is going on? thanks.
good luck!
The problem is that you’re still using Outlook Express. There are far better, and free, mail applications available.
IBRULI question. (Are You Loged In?)
There are a number of reasons why this could occur, depending on the configuration of your local computer and the type of email server that you are using.
Posting to FR is not really a good way to try to resolve this problem. You need a tech support person that can inspect your computer and your Outlook Express configuration and figure out what is going on.
That cracked me up.
I disagree.
Posting to FR is a fine way to try to find an answer, we are a community, after all.
I have posted questions about woodworking, computers, auto repair, and gotten expert advice each time. There are some really, really talented people here.
Over the years, I can’t think of a topic that hasn’t come up a time or two. And the chat section specifically has topics for computers and hobbies.
So... post away!!
For some problems, yes. I was referring to this problem.
This kind of tech support issue requires further investigation, because there isn't a single potential cause. And in my experience, the kind of questions I'd have to ask aren't answerable by the typical user.
I'd have to either look at the user's computer directly, or use some sort of remote assistance tool to examine it. Trying to diagnose it on a public forum with various people offering suggestions that may be irrelevant would just frustrate all parties.
