I don't remember the name of this one, but it was their all-time best. Hilarious!
This was supposed to be a Robert Cummings movie as Jack Warner saw it. But Reagan stole the film right out from under him. Cummings was not leading man material, and he hit his stride on TV in the Fifties. It's astonishing that Jack Warner didn't see that.
The punch line came in 1966 when Reagan announced for governor of California. Upon being apprised of this fact, Jack Warner thought a bit and said, "No, Bob Cummings for governor, and Reagan for best friend." It still amazes me that a mogul as savvy as Warner could have made that big a mistake.
He was.
It’s hard for me to think of any performance by Massey that wasn't great.
He really had this presence, this intensity, and the ability to project evil when he played the bad guys, that was hard to beat.
Talking about Ronald Reagan, Desperate Journey is the only movie I can remember Reagan and Massey being cast together,
The title of the movie was "It", and the "It Girl" was star Clara Bow.
THAT’S the one! “Best Years of Our Lives” If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you rent it.

You know he flew hundreds of bombing raids against Germany in WW II, and won the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Crossyes?
Then movie followed real life when he did “Strategic Air Command” with June Allyson.
He and June Allyson were really great together. They must have made at least 3 movies together, including Strategic Air Command, The Glenn Miller Story and The Stratton Story.
Then there were the chilling movies he made with Alfred Hitchcock, Rear Window, Vertigo, etc.
We haven't even talked about his trademark westerns yet. Truly a versatile, multi-faceted, super talented actor of many parts, and a truly great man.
This was the first movie I saw at age 13. I don't know if it was a good movie or not, I was so scared and nervous I could only remember the name, it was war and airplanes.
