Indians the Fastest Growing Illegal Immigrants in the U.S.
Indians are the fastest growing group of illegal immigrants in the U.S., according to the American Community Survey of the U.S. Census Bureau. Indians in the U.S. are the fastest growing Asian community as well, and the Asian Indian population in the U.S. grew from 1,679,000 to 2,570,000 in the seven years from 2000 to 2007.
Indian Americans have the highest growth rate of 53 percent amongst Asian American communities. It is also amongst the fastest growing ethnic group in the U.S. So far, Chinese Americans are the largest Asian American ethnic group followed by Filipinos and Indian Americans. Many Indians get into the U.S. with an H-1B Visa so they do not have to cross the border illegally. These might contain Indians who go to the U.S. for better job prospects but end up living illegally.
The survey also shows that Indian illegal immigrants have attained a higher level of education than other illegal immigrants in the U.S.. Also, another reason for the increase in Indian Americans could be the fact that Indians can speak English fluently. Immigrants from India often work for high-tech companies and perform highly skilled jobs such as engineering and computer programming.
When it comes to illegal immigration, Hispanic illegal immigrants largely outnumber other undocumented immigrants. Even after restrictions imposed and the recent drug-blood bath, Mexicans make up nearly seven million of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants. The next largest group of Hispanics is Salvadorans and Guatemalans. But Indians are the fastest growing group of illegal immigrants in the U.S., according to U.S.
Department of Homeland Security report. As per the report, there are 270,000 unauthorized Indians in the U.S. - a 125 percent jump since 2000. This is the largest percentage increase of any nationality with more than 100,000 illegal immigrants.
Mexicans are part Indian.

I’m against illegal immigration.
However, I think legal immigration from India is all in all a good thing. They have an admirable culture and in general are family-oriented, entrepreneurial people.
It's also possible that Indian immigrants, who tend to have higher paying jobs and better standing in their communities, are more inclined to answer ACS questions honestly than are illegals from the Mexican border, who are more likely on the margins of society. This would inflate the number of Indians vs. the number of Latin Americans. I just don't trust a government-run survey that trusts people to self-report crimes.

LOL That's what we keep hearing about the hispanic invaders. "At least they are Catholic and don't kill babies!" is the usual line.

I’m no fan of government intervention, but something needs to be done with all the outsourcing to India, it’s really hurting the IT buissness. Ideas?
Yes, they are quiet and friendly, and they originally came here legally on a visa. However, they never left once the visa expired. They are now just as illegal as border crossers. And worse, most are in professional, highly paid jobs that many Americans would love to have. One other thing to note is, most of their money is wired back to India and is never used to stimulate our economy. I know this because my wife works in a bank in an area highly populated by Indians.

Whatever happens to the UK 20 years ago then takes place in the US. The Indian “invasion” of England began in the 1960s and in the 1980s the Indian tsunami struck the US.
Yeah, how about cutting American business and capital gains taxes. Oh, we could outlaw Indians, I suppose, but why not get at the root of the problem?

Indian Americans are the wealthiest ethnic group in the United States, with a median household income of $84,000, far in excess of the white median. And no, they didn’t become successful due to “subsidies.” An SBA guaranteed loan can only take you so far. Besides, if it were “government subsidies” that made a group affluent, black Americans would be the wealthiest ethnic group.
