Meg 33, What a beautiful picture! I do get chills looking at the frozen branches!
billie, what a beautiful new song by Susan Boyle! Listened to it on my new Boise speakers. Wonderful! Thank you all!

Good evening, Tiapam.

I hope yesterday’s Opener didn’t cause you any pain. That little girl is so precious and the poem seemed a perfect fit.

It is really nice to see you here.

Hope your Tuesday was Terrific.

Thanks, Amy! Pretty bird with the ‘spring’ blossoms! Didn’t know Marissa was still out of school this week, so your days haven’t returned to ‘normal’ yet. Alvin and the Chipmunks, pizza....all that fun you’re having. :)

Taking a few minutes to check your Sunday posts, Meg, and they’re all so pretty - the snowy opening with all the blue tones and your beautiful ‘snow’ birds! This post I’m responding to in particular - snowy owl? So very pretty!

Re your #181, Kitty.....

Jaycee said: "Just listened to your selection and tears are running down my cheeks. Things like this always get to me hard. We just don’t realize how many people (and precious little innocent children) are hungry and we do waste a lot of food in the country."

I knew the link would get to me - and just couldn't bring myself to click on it. We are so fortunate to be able to fill our tummies when we're hungry, and have warm houses and warm shoes and clothes in the winter, and shelter from the scorching sun in air-conditioned homes in the summer. God Bless the Little Children....

Thank you, jaycee. I try to make all the links to the music so that you can just click on the links and they open without losing your place on the thread - just minimize that window and you're right back in the thread where you clicked the link.

I like the song a lot, too - still, my favorite is the first one I posted a few weeks ago - "Who I Was Born To Be" - the only song on her first album that was written just for Susan Boyle. Can't deny that the others don't all show off her wonderful voice though. I am crazy about almost every song she sings!

I can open YouTubes - they just take a while to fully load without so much buffering. It’s actually the slideshows that are more difficult. I didn’t get everything to open, but did get the idea. :)

A pretty daydreamer, too. :) For some reason, the lower part of the picture wouldn't open. I refreshed several times and it still looks like this screenshot I captured:

Hi, Meg - another pretty ‘snowbird’! Thank you. I knew you would enjoy Susan’s “Wings to Fly”! I loved it when I first heard it - just came across the YouTube and fell in love with yet another of her songs!

tiapam, I'm sorry I'm so late getting to your post and also welcoming you to Amy's Place. I'm happy you enjoyed Susan's new song and bet it did sound great on Boise speakers.

Amy and I posted several of her other songs about the middle of December if you haven't heard them, I'll look back and get the links to those openings if you'd like for me to.

I read your next post about the little girl and poem we did for yesterday's opening. Thank you. (I think! Hope it didn't bring up sad memories)

Can't believe I am here posting at this hour - WAY past my bedtime!

Must say goodnight and will 'see' you in the morning I hope. :)

It’s actually the slideshows that are more difficult. I didn’t get everything to open, but did get the idea.

The slide show uses java script and a java script timer to replace the lady standing by the dancing GW GIF. It is started by clicking on your avatar and stopped by clicking on the dancing GW GIF. Avatars for jaycee, Meg, yorkie & mama_bear are shown now and I have one other lady finished that I haven't got installed into the slideshow yet.

Do you have java script enabled?

In the spirit of silliness

Words

A galloping glutton
a runaway button
What odd terms we use
or is it the terms we abuse

In a pig’s eye
oh to be a fly
What silly things we say
our poor language pays

Foolish at best
words are the test
And we all have our say
at least for this poor day
