Let’s face it — Ellen was a huge mistake. It makes Kara seem to not be that bad a mistake.
When Simon leaves next year, we will be left with Randy, “yo dog” and blithering idiots (we can debate whether Randy belongs there as well...).
And, everyone on this thread gave her every break. We laughed at her good material in Hollywood and tried to appreciate her perspective.
Bottom Line: First and foremost Ellen doesn’t know squat about music. Second: she isn’t that funny because she is an element she doesn’t understand. Third: She has become boring since she has been ordered to tone it down (as opposed to being just stupid — tough call).
Kara was Paula Light and will always be in her shadow.

Randy nails it 100% in his analysis!
I like her voice, but her song choice was bad (again) and they are right, there is something about her that doesn’t connect with her and the audience. Something off-putting.
Just pitiful....
