The dreaded colonoscopy may get the most attention but a cheap, at-home stool test works, too - and when California health care provider Kaiser Permanente started mailing those test kits to patients due for a colon check, its screening rates jumped well above the national average.

But it’s good to know that there are other methods of screening out that that are less invasive.

The stool test can’t screen the earliest signs of cancer, only an in-colon camera can do that. Besides, the colon video is a lot better entertainment than 99% of what is on tv anyway.

"The dreaded colonoscopy ..."

The only reason it is dreaded is the day before the procedure!

Well, if you’re not out completely, only lightly sedated, that is arguable.

The last moron gastro I went to doesn’t knock you out for it.

NEVER AGAIN......

Changed gastros......

What happened to that Tylenol capsule-sized TV camera one could just swallow?

That's because what they don't want to see any of while they're in there, is already ON TV.

You got that right, buddy. I found a piece of Hubba Bubba chewing gum I swallowed back in the 3rd grade.

Our insurance company doesn’t cover regular colonoscopys until you’ve reached your deductible. The test runs between $3000-5000 here. Our deductible is $5000. That could be why a lot of people aren’t having the exam. They can’t afford it.

The medical commercials nowdays are absolutely pathetic...

Heard another one this morning for a particular hospital....Where they repeatedly stated, "Try us first"

The medical profession has most of the elderly all strung out of drugs...It's just pathetic....

Well, for starters, 66,882,230 people would be ineligible for this procedure due to the cranial blockage in their colon.

It is the prep that is the worst. The drugs they put you on during the test itself are heavenly.
