I had a palm treo 600 for several years with AT&T, and didn’t have any trouble with it at all. Went through a few batteries, but that’s normal with any phone. It was a perfectly fine smartphone.
Switched to an iPhone last year, but I’m looking forward to the new Windows Phone 7 Series due out later this year.
I use a Blackberry on Verizon. I can’t be of much help.
I have had a palm treo for almost 4 years now. I have dropped it repeatedly and actually went swimming with it in my pocket (jumped in the lake in front of my house after my 3 year old fell in). After I dried it out (took 2 days to completely do the job), I put it back together and it worked fine. That was about 2 years ago. I love it.
I will soon need a new phone and am going to be sorry to see it go. I have actually purchased two other phones in the last year, but returned them within 30 days and went back to the treo. (they were blackberry storm and palm pre). I did like the palm pre, but I don’t like sprint. If you don’t have to pay too much for the phone, I would say go for it. Just my opinion.
I’ve been using this phone with Verizon for the past few years and have only had to replace it 5 or 6 times. I’m not kidding. The current phone has outlasted all the others so I have no complaints with it now... but I’m not holding my breath either.
I went through three from work in the space of a year. A piece of junk
that had to be reset once a week. Buy an iPhone.
Bump for later
I don’t know about the Treo but I was thinking about upgrading my BBerry Storm to a Palm Pre Plus (have an Android for work line)- curious about seeing the feedback you get.
I have a Palm Treo through Sprint that I like. It’s been replaced a couple of times in three years, but it gets alot of use; the kids chew on it, play video games when we’re in the doctors office, drop it from shopping carts onto hard floors...It puts up with alot of abuse.
Had a 680 for years. Loved it. Would still be using it if it could run Opera Mini.
