I think Bauer will translate to movies better than Mulder and Scully did ... the X-Files don’t really work as well in a two-hour self-contained plot. 24 has always been a self-contained plot ... it was just 24 episodes long rather than 2.5 hours. Bauer may have a chance of becoming an American James Bond.

That may be, but Kiefer is getting old,, who would be the next Jack Bauer? .. or is there only one.. Jack Bauer.
I think Kiefer’s got a few movies in him. He’s in his 40s I think.
After that ... I would have no problem with a re-cast. Though, like Bond before him, a re-casting will be difficult for the first new guy.

Really? What will happen next week?
He’s mid 40s-ish, born December 21st, 1966
he was one of the young guns as I recall.
he’s got a few movies left in him. ;-)
Really? What will happen next week?

1) The episode will start with a crisis of some variety
2) Jack will be forced into a situation where he must trust the untrustworthy.
3) There will be intrigue in the office
4) The untrustworthy one will turn on Jack
5) Jack’s life will hang in the balance
6) Many people will be shot, many will die, and the threat of annihilation will hang over the entire world
7) Jack will, with seconds to spare, save the day and make the world a safer place until the following week.
Get back to me after nest week’s episode and tell me how wrong I was.
Don’t forget: he’ll accomplish 2 hours worth of traveling during the commercial break. If regular people could navigate LA half as fast as Jack it might actually be a nice place to live.
It is the only show I watch also.
