CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Paris-based manufacturers of an inhalable coffee powder said the confection became available Thursday at stores in New York and Massachusetts.

Le Whif coffee, created by David Edwards, a Harvard University professor of biomedical engineering, and marketed by his Paris-based company LaboGroup, is being offered for sale at Dylan's Candy Bar in New York and Cardullo's Gourmet Shoppe in Cambridge, Mass., The Chicago Tribune reported.

LaboGroup, part of experimental art and design center Le Laboratoire, said it hopes to expand the product to other states during the next month.

A Dylan's Candy Bar worker said Le Whif packages will cost $3 each.

"Le Whif is a new delicious approach to eating by breathing," a Le Whif product brochure reads. "With Le Whif, we inhale food, like chocolate, into our mouths and taste it, without chewing, an experience of flavor without the calories."

Inhale cigar smoke ... lung cancer, asthma, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.

Inhale popcorn ....popcorn lung

Inhale asbestos ....mesothelioma

What harm can this do?

Reading the headline made me sneeze. I envisioned a snuff-like snorting of it. My sinuses are recoiling in horror.

I have a substance abuse problem and that substance is coffee. Bold and black, unfornicated by milk or sugar, just they way God made it.

Hell, I’m disappointed if I don’t find coffee grounds at the bottom of my cup of joe.

I can live without water but not without coffee...

I can live without water but not without coffee...

When I enlisted in the AF and became a Missile Combat Crewmember I became addicted to coffee. Had to stay awake through the Alert. I did not want to get fat so I drank it black, as God did intend!

Some of the Titan II sites had nasty water and the sludge we brewed could have been added into the missile for extra fuel but we drank it anyway.

Once I commissioned and went on Minuteman crew, we were not allowed a brewer in the capsule so I made my own strong stuff and had a huge thermos to take out on Alert.

If it doesn't eat through a ceramic mug it is not strong enough for me!

Take care!

Agreed. Another stupid fad. Probably will be big in urban coastal areas for a year, then die out.
