America the Right Way-Staying Vigilant! 34 months left Mar. 22-26, 2010[Remember 9-11]

This morning I woke up with a Merle Haggard song in my head.

Are the good times really over for good lyrics.

***I wish a buck was still silver.

It was back when the country was strong.

Back before Elvis; before the Vietnam war came along.

Before The Beatles and “Yesterday”,

When a man could still work, and still would.

Is the best of the free life behind us now?

Are the good times really over for good?

Are we rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell?

With no kind of chance for the Flag or the Liberty bell.

Wish a Ford and a Chevy,

Could still last ten years, like they should.

Is the best of the free life behind us now?

Are the good times really over for good?

I wish coke was still cola,

And a joint was a bad place to be.

And it was back before NixonObama lied to us all on TV.

Before microwave ovens,

When a girl could still cook and still would.

Stop rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell.

Stand up for the Flag and let`s all ring the Liberty bell.

Let`s make a Ford and a Chevy,

Still last ten years, like they should.

The best of the free life is still yet to come,

The good times ain`t over for good.***

Lysie, I am so sorry. Losing your dog is so very hard.

Geee, Do you know when your poem was written? I’m asking because I know a Jan Cooper (were in Girl Scouts together and she and a friend played a really smooth April Fool’s trick on me) who is an english prof. I’m wondering if she is the author.

embassy is near the hotel...but I also need to replace the visa and file a police report AND get two photos, etc, etc.

I guess my day is now shot

I think I left it in the taxi - I was hoping he’d bring it back

Big bummer. Yup. Your day is shot.

Note to self: be sure to get copies of photo to carry when traveling. Photocopy all necessary papers, store in more than one location.

Robert Culp has died (from a head injury!). Last week, Fess Parker and Peter Graves.

I feel old (and plan not to use chairs as step ladders!).

I like your tag line.

Good evening everybody. Had to take Sam the hound dog to the vet for his annual check, immunizations, nail trim. I was worn out this afternoon and took a nap, I’ll probably be up late tonight.

I hadn’t heard about the deaths of any of those actors. Thanks for posting about that.

How is your back feeling?

I’m sorry, lysie, she was a good puppy. I hate to think of “that” day for Beanie, she is such a great gal.

Wherever you are, Rave, the passport is worth a lot of money to the taxi driver or whoever cleans it out.

(((((lysie)))))

How very sad. It’s always hard, but when you’ve had a pet as many years as your Elsa, it seems even harder.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

The back is getting better all the time. Having said that, I have just concluded my morning’s activities and will be in bed until tomorrow morning.
