Weird stuff seems to go with major comets. When a comet appeared in A.D. 60, the people of Rome assumed it meant the impending death of their still new emperor, Nero. He responded by exiling a potential rival. When another comet turned up just 4 years later, ancient historians say he ordered the execution of dozens of nobles. It is said that Moctezuma II saw a comet in 1517 that foreshadowed the downfall of Aztec empire. In 1910, a wave of hysteria swept over the United States amid reports that Earth was about to pass through Halley's tail.

I don’t recall, but Las Vegas seems to have more than most cities for the “luck” factor. I just think they are fun to give!

The necklace, modeled by Elen, is my Mother's Day present to myself. Here's a closer, but badly-lit view:

Here's Frank with the slender and elusive Brother Bill, who vanished as soon as I snapped the picture.

Thanks!

Made it here to Greensboro in good order and am in hotel. But I have a LOT of reading to do before class begins tomorrow.

And it is HOT here - 91F and humid. (Well, okay, not really that HOT but a bit warm for me. Guess I'm not in Seattle anymore. *\;^)

It’s hot here too. I’m enjoying it, but that’s because I’m not trying to do anything.

But I’ve heard that thunderstorms are on the way. Rats! And I had such ambition, too!

Would you like me to ask the NC Forum for dining suggestions?

We would welcome thunderstorms. The pollen is making Bill all snuffly and sneezly.

If I had a better handle on the class members I would, but some might be local and generally I don't know these folks as well as I would like. In years past I had heard that some at our classes in our facility considered the local Greek restaurant to be extremely exotic.

But this evening one of our Regional Sales Managers showed up -- he is taking the class too! (He was my host last February when I was speaking in NH while the class was being at my facility instead of the opposite side of the country.) He will know these folks better than I.

I hope you have a nice time in the state, and if you want to make it rain, that would be okay, too.

Just signed up a month ago to be entertained? Sorry, but this is a political forum not a game website. Try newgrounds.com if you want to be entertained.
