Christie’s has joined with NBC Universal and four leading environmental organizations to form a unique partnership, to raise awareness and funds for the protection of our planet, culminating with the inaugural Christies' Green Auction on April 22, the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. The carbon neutral auction will have live and online components, featuring world-renowned works of art, exotic travel packages and unique celebrity experiences.
Or how about "You and 3 Friends Can Enjoy a VIP Behind-the-Scenes Tour of "The Today Show" at only $1,750.00?
Certainly someone here wants to "Take Home a Fabulous Portrait of Sarah Jessica Parker, Signed by Sarah Jessica Parker" for just $2,500.00.
And who's does not want to "Enjoy a Superb Round of Golf with President Bill Clinton" for just $32,000? (Note the estimated value is $100K.)
Why not pick up a portrait of Ruth Buzzi? It'll look the same and probably be quite a lot cheaper.

I took a look at all those “Earth Day” activities up for auction and figured there were probably some people here who could not find anything they’d be interested in doing.
So I’ve decided to try my OWN Earth Day Auction.
I’ve got a big pile of about old car and motorcycle tires out behind my shed and, I was planning on torching them off, that’s right, “settin’ f’ar to ‘em”, tomorrow afternoon, in celebration of Earth Day.
However, I’m willing to let someone ELSE have the satisfaction of starting that tire fire, if they are the high bidder in my Earth day Auction! Just to make it interesting, I’m including one gallon of regular unleaded gas a small box of “strike anywhere” matches in the auction price. Transportation to and from “behind my shed” is NOT included.
The bidding starts at $15 and a 12 pack of harp Ale!
