It's all relative: Einstein world's smallest horse at 35cm high

A TINY stallion just 35cm high is thought to be a record breaker as the world's smallest foal. Einstein, a pinto stallion, weighed in at just 2.7kg when he was born last week in the US.

Breeder Judy Smith, of Tiz A Miniature Horse Farm, in Barnstead, New Hampshire, told Sky News she thought he was dead when she first saw him.

"I have been at this for 20 years plus, but I have never seen one this tiny or even close to it.

"At first he didn't move very much. We started rubbing him with a towel and he started to move around. He was so small."

Breeders said that unlike the current record holder, Thumbelina, Einstein shows no signs of dwarfism.

"From the head to the legs - the length, width, height - everything is just beautiful about this little horse," said co-owner Charlie Cantrell.

Fellow owner Dr. Rachel Wagner said: "Most of the ones that are really tiny are what we call dwarves and they have some sort of dysmorphic features, or features that aren't really normal or healthy.

"This little guy is like all horses - he's almost all leg."

There is a miniature horse farm close to my home! When we were poor you parents with 5 kids we’d take them there to stand outside the fence and see the ponies. Sometimes they had llamas there too and exotic poultry. Cheaper than the zoo. : )

It has been said that if someone could just breed a tiny elephant, they would become very wealthy indeed.

Last week on Animal Planet’s Pet Star (re-run from 2003) there was a lady named Flame who danced with her miniature horse. It was darling, but they didn’t win. The little horse pranced just like a circus horse of the 1800s.

It's a St. Bernard, so the mini horse looks extra tiny:

I dont think its a big deal anyway but people seem to dislike it if the article is posted twice.. Actually I think 2 or three of the same postings helps get the word out

Thanks for this one
