Elon John Sings At Limbaugh’s Fourth Wedding Openly gay singer was reportedly paid $1 million to perform at event

Singer Elton John received a $1 million fee to perform in front of 400 guests celebrating radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh's fourth wedding Saturday night, People Magazine reports. Limbaugh, 59, wed Kathryn Rogers, 33, at the Breakers hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.

Limbaugh is an outspoken opponent of gay marriage while John is openly gay and in a civil partnership with male partner David Furnish. Celebrity guests at the wedding reportedly included former Bush adviser Karl Rove, baseball slugger George Brett, former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, and golfer Tom Watson.

According to People, the couple met six years ago, while Rogers was running a charity golftournament and Limbaugh was in the process of divorcing for the third time. The Palm Beach Post reported that as many as 50 private security guards were hired for the wedding.

Web site Gawker.com hired a plane to fly over the wedding site towing a banner that read "Rush: Congrats on your 4th marriage. XO, Gawker." The saying on the banner was chosen from suggestions made by readers. Rejected suggestions included "This time he really means it," "Wishing you months of bliss," and "Congrats on #4 from those of us who can't have 1."

how is that walking on water thing going?

It is very easy to be holier than thou, but many (most) christian faiths permit divorce for cause. The “no divorce ever” is from the women’s temperance types.

I think that has been established, it is just the price tag that is at issue.

Why would Rush hire and pay so extravagantly someone who probably hates him?

More importantly, what does it say for the "righteous indignation" of Reggie Dwight and others of his ilk who whine, cry and bleat about their denigration until someone greases their palms with enough coin of the realm???

That’s a good point. I’m not sure I can recall Rush ever discussing it. Maybe in an offhand way, but not as his main topic. No doubt if he’s said something, Media Matters would have found it. It would be interesting to see their “file” on him on that subject.

I heard he paid 1 million to Elton for this one day! that’s good money that may be used to help further promote the homo agenda when it could have went to a noble conservative musician. What is wrong with Rush?

Reg, pretty much like all lefties and “liberals” is pretty much a hypocrit when it comes to their own money.

You did not address my points though...whether or not it is good for pr. who cares. So he will appear to be okay with gays now,, wow..that’s a good thing? I think you are bending over backwards making an excuse for Rush. I could understand Rush appearing at the same venue as Elton and being kind to him. But paying him a million dollars? That is ridiculous besides which no entertainer deserves that kind of money for one day worth of work. No wonder their egos are so huge! They are spoiled rotten.

If somebody wants to pay him a million dollars for one day of work, he deserves it.

Who made you the pay czar?

Agree! Who is the real hypocrite? Rush or Elton John? One showed tolerance while the other ignored his convictions for money.

the willingness of a person to pay someone an amount of money does not equate deserving that amount. WHt a wste of good money. SO can not I voice my insight without being called some sort of dictator...

Agree about the B-52s being a great wedding band.

I ignored them for decades because I thought they were just cornpone, then I saw this video:

...and realized there was something there I could like. I still think they’re corny but somehow that broke the ice and I kind of like them now.

it wasn’t about his homosexuality dude.. do you get it now?

if I could afford it and my wife liked his music I would pay the man to entertain me too.. leave the politics out of it for once... sheesh

It is when you pay a gay guy 1 million $ of your money! You don’t think that money is going to help forward the gay agenda? And if it was Rush’s wife that wanted Elton, then that is all the worse! O boy...starting out on the wrong foot there. Good luck Rush, you are going to need it.
