If you were hoping that the software update promised by Apple last Friday would include some special secret sauce that would prevent the new iPhone's reception from dipping when it's held the wrong way, prepare for disappointment.
Gizmodo, the iPhone-scooping tech blog that's become quite the thorn in Apple's side, says it has checked not once, not twice, but three times with the AppleCare support line, and each time the service reps said the same thing: holding the iPhone 4 in such a way that you're touching the outer steel band on the lower-left corner will indeed cause antenna interference, and the upcoming iPhone update won't do anything to change the situation.
The response isn't all that different from what Apple said in its open letter last Friday, in which it blamed the rash of complaints about the iPhone 4's "death grip" problem to a faulty reception display that's (supposedly) showing too many bars in weak signal areas.

You do huh?
That's like saying you know how to use Adobe Photoshop just because you have a Potosop DVD sitting on your desk, which you haven't even installed yet.
The first rule of holes is to stop digging.
Say, how is that “brother” of yours doing these days then?
I dont like how W7 copies files, the sluggishness with emulators, the changes in windows explorer, or how a lot of my legacy programs wont work.
Chortle!
You never used the product, but hey, you are an expert on how it works anyways, right?
BTW, for the most part, most Vista programs work on Win 7. Plus you can run XP programs on certain versions of Win 7 in XP mode, if you absolutely have to run XP programs.
Sluggishness huh? Win 7 is faster, smoother and more responsive than Vista.
Say, exactly how does Win 7 copies files that you “dont like”?
And for what its worth, I am not an Apple user in any sense of the term.
You sure are not a Win 7 user either.
So go troll elsewhere
Said the guy that trolls Win 7 threads without even using it first.
I think you may be addressing this to the wrong ranter and raver. I pinged you to this thread because you and soothesayer9 were being used as prime examples of "Applebot vermin" who had invaded pristine Windows threads to spread insults and lies about Windows users. I felt you deserved to know and have a chance to defend yourselves from the accusations being made by SmokingJoe.
Since SmokingJoe did not have the courtesy to ping you when he called you liars and insulted you, I did.
I’ve used every version of Windows except Windows 7. None of the versions I’ve used over 20 some years has ever lived up to Micro Soft’s hype. I’ve only started using Apple computers for about a year and have been satisfied with their overall performance. Am I am rabid Apple consumer, willing to pay anything for a new product and excuse any shortcomings in their products? Not a chance. If anyone is happy with MS operating systems, more power to them. Freedom of choice is what this Republic is all about. I fail to see where anything I’ve said about MS or Apple has earn me the title of liar. SmokinJoe appears to be using Progressive tactics to demean someone who criticizes something they’ve said. Sorry if I misread the intent of your ping.
It just so happens that this particular thread was about Wndows 7, which you hadn't really used.
“None of the versions Ive used over 20 some years has ever lived up to Micro Softs hype. “
That's like saying hey, I have convicted 5 black guys for burglary in the last 5 years so therefore the next black guy I see in the street is guilty of burglary without any evidence being produced in court to back the charges up, apart from the fact that other black men had been convicted of similar crimes before. That's exactly what you did in this post of yours right here.
“Tried out Win7 today over my brothers house. My god what an abomination. Half the games wouldn't run. Explorer was a mess..felt the same way when they moved everything around in Office with the whole ribbon thing. It really is Vista with service pack 3.”

You are calling Windows 7 “an abomination” without even using the product.
“Freedom of choice is what this Republic is all about”
Freedom of choice is great, as is freedom of speech.
Good news is, it works both ways. When a determined, rabid troll goes flat out to spread as much FUD and disinformation as they can, others are equally free to correct the disinformation and right back.
“SmokinJoe appears to be using Progressive tactics to demean someone who criticizes something theyve said. “
All anyone has to do is read this post of yours, to see who is using progressive tactics here:

Typical Alsinski tactics by you, accusing others of exactly what you are in fact doing.
The thread was a thread about Window7 in relation to Mac OSX, it was not a stand alone, in a vacuum, Windows7 only thread, no matter how much YOU want to have a kicking, screaming, pounding on the floor, wet your diaper tantrum and claim it is. Antidemoncrat is entitled to have an opinion without YOU calling him a liar when he relates his subjective experience. He criticized an inanimate operating system. YOU, criticized HIM, insulted him, called him a liar, for deigning to have an opinion YOU disagreed with. Everything you did is considered hitting below the belt, cheating.
The thread was about Windows 7 market share taking out the entire Apple mac market share in just a few short months. The only mention of Mac OSX it's market share being overtaken by Windows 7.
Furthermore, antidemoncrat's entire posts in that tread were about trashing Windows 7 (without even using it), using discredited Applebot talking points (that were easily disabused by other posters), and calling Windows 7 “an abomination”. His posts were NOT about Mac OSX.
“Windows7 only thread, no matter how much YOU want to have a kicking, screaming, pounding on the floor, wet your diaper tantrum and claim it is.”
Given that his posts in that tread were flat out about trashing Windows 7, I think it's you and your deranged Applebot fanatics who are having wet diapers right now over the iPhone 4’s dropped calls, while foaming at the mouth and spewing out garbage.
Antidemoncrat is entitled to have an opinion without YOU calling him a liar when he relates his subjective experience
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, NOT their own set of facts. When Applebots like antidemocrat (more like antiTRUTH) make things up, of course other posters have every right to call him out on his little tales of fiction.
He criticized an inanimate operating system.
He made things up, came up with falsehoods, and set out to spread as much disinformation and FUD as he could, and got called out on it by other posters. Sounds fair to me.
YOU, criticized HIM, insulted him, called him a liar, for deigning to have an opinion YOU disagreed with
Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. What everyone is NOT entitled to is their own set of facts. When you flat out lie, other posters are free to call it what it is.
Everything you did is considered hitting below the belt, cheating.
The real cheat is someone who makes things up, flat out lies, and tries to present clear falsehoods as facts, in an attempt to push an agenda. That is what hitting below the belt is like. Those who call out the fiction writers and take them down are the heroes here.
Fine, Joe, you go be a hero who attacks people with insults and childish behavior.
Your passion for Windows products reminds me of when Chris Mathews said he got a shiver up his leg when he listened to one of Obama’s speeches. Anyway, the number of crashes I’ve experienced with both of my Apple computers over the last year add up to less than 10 so in that respect I am very happy with their products. Is their OS perfect? No. Are they susceptible to viruses? Not so much. The only real advantage to Windows driven machines is their cost.
Yes, I have never used Windows 7 but my son is an IT manager for a company that only uses Windows 7 for their systems and he is not real impressed with it versus XP Pro or Vista. My original comment was made because all of Micro Soft’s previous versions of Windows were marginally good and they all ended up being a hacker’s paradise. From what I read on blogs for Windows 7 it crashes a lot and is still is very susceptible to viruses. I believe if MS had not had close to a monopoly on PC operating systems, they probably would not have survived.
If anyone is happy with Windows 7, more power to them.
Your passion AGAINST Windows reminds me of Osama Bin Laden and his Al Quaeda vermin. You use exactly the same code words. Why else would you call Windows 7 “an abomination” (similar to how Osama Bin Laden calls America an "abomination") without even using it, despite the fact that over 8 million beta users highly approved of the product, and the operating system as had universal acclaim, and shattered all operating system sales records? You need medical treatment for your abject foaming at the mouth insanity wen it comes to Windows.
As much as I would like to continue this conversation our Republic is facing much more serious problems than whether Window 7 is better than Snow Leopard and this is becoming a moot distraction. Let it be said that antidemoncrat is happy with Snow Leopard and Smokinjoe is happy with Windows 7 and never the twain shall meet.
Yeah?
Been using Windows 7 since beta for 2 years now. No crashes.
The only real advantage to Windows driven machines is their cost
Windows 7 is more secure than Apple's Snow Leopard.
Plus Windows runs vastly more apps (especially business apps) than the mac ever as.
Plus most AAA video games run on Windows. They don't on the Apple mac.
Yes, I have never used Windows 7 but my son is an IT manager for a company that only uses Windows 7 for their systems and he is not real impressed with it versus XP Pro or Vista
Ummm..yeah. You've now graduated from your "brother" to your son have you? You sure got plenty of kin who use Windows 7, and still hate it don't ya?
So lemme see...your son eats an orange and somehow you are able to tell if the orange is great tasting or not, just from your son eating the orange, right?
I get it.
And your son's opinion somehow trumps the massive approval that Windows 7 has met with from the over 150 million consumers who have already bought and used Windows 7 right?
From what I read on blogs for Windows 7 it crashes a lot and is still is very susceptible to viruses
Funny. That's not what the overwhelming majority of Windows 7 users say:
“Windows 7 helps Microsoft hit record customer satisfaction score
Windows 7 has fueled a surge of goodwill toward Microsoft, with the company's customer satisfaction ratings reaching a record high in Q1, according to a new American Customer Satisfaction Index survey.
Microsoft's reputation among customers plunged after it released the widely criticized Windows Vista, but Windows 7 helped Microsoft achieve an increase of nearly 9% in its customer satisfaction score between 2009 and 2010.
When Vista was released in 2007, “customer satisfaction plunged 4% to an ACSI score of 70, well below the industry average, where it remained for the next three years,” University of Michigan business professor Claes Fornell writes in analysis of the new ACSI numbers.
But when Windows 7 was introduced in October 2009, the software reached 4% market share within just three weeks, whereas it took Vista seven months to reach that milestone.
As a result, Microsoft's customer satisfaction score rose from 70 to 76 in 2010, an 8.6% increase.”

/sarc But hey, your “son” says otherwise so it must be so.
I believe if MS had not had close to a monopoly on PC operating systems, they probably would not have survived
If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. If it were so easy to gain a 90% operating system market share on the world's desktops, why haven't YOU (or anyone else) done it?
