I’m with you on this. I don’t watch much TV but I usually hear something about various shows on regular news or commercials. I’ve never heard of this. It’s been on for two years? They must not be very proud of it. I suppose that I can still continue to not watch it even if it isn’t on.

Maybe none.

This sort of reminds me of that steel company (can’t remember the state) a few years ago where the workers went on strike. The owner just shut the place down and walked away.

It should be called “Low Class Italian-American NEW YORKERS at the Jersey Shore,” as all but one of the cast are from New York, and it is more a depiction of how Staten Islanders invade New Jersey every summer.

I predict they will end up like “Different Strokes” kids.

They are not even from the shore? LOL! Did they bus them in from Brooklyn or something?

I cancelled TV a year ago but heard the show is gross. Idiot kids with some of them playing up the worst Italian-American stereotypes of goombas. Like the disgusting Gotti kids. I watched that for a millisecond once.

As far as going on strike. If the stupid show is making money hand over fist than why not. The producer can also fire them. TV is such trash and it is ALL pro-Obama propaganda.

Rush is talking about the ruling class article in the American Spectator all of today. It really does nail it.

TV is controlled by the elites and we are just serfs to slaves to them. Screw TV.

Are you sure this isn’t just the ‘we’re on strike’ story line.
They can soak that for at least a few episodes.

I was born in Jersey, but I grew up in Dallas.

The cast does remind me of some of my cousins. I may have turned out the same way had I grown up there.

I went to Wildwood every summer.

Ironically, the one from Jersey may be the most normal one on the show (although that ain’t sayin much).

LOL! It would be funny if they were not so disgusting. Note I cancelled TV a year ago but I heard it was really horrible. Staten Island is where most of the mobsters live and where those Gotti kids are hopefully headed back to. These creepy little Goomba/gangster wannabe’s give Italian-Americans a bad name.

I think it is somewhat funny that they are now “jacking” the producer for more money. The disgusting show is apparently popular. I guess the producer should have hired real decent Jersey Shore kids instead of Staten Island mobster wannabes. Bruce and Bon Jovi are NJ shore Dems but Southside Johnny is a good guy and probably not a Dem.

I guess it is popular because some people like watching car crashes.

You aren’t missing anything IMHO. I live on the Jersey shore. Hung out on the boardwalks when I was younger & have young adult sons. They are nothing like these kids nor are their friends. I don’t like Seaside because of the tourists. The bars can be a bit wild but this show makes it seem like we are all a bunch of nuts. It is the bennies aka tourists who make the trouble & the shore town benefit from that by the tickets etc.

Which one is actually from Jersey? I never watched the train wreck and cancelled TV but I now have a morbid curiousity.

Grosses me out too. All of a sudden NJ has a bunch of shows , you have Real Housewives of NJ, ‘Jerseylicious’, this show & a show called “Jersey Couture”. Sometimes if I am bored I will watch them for a few minutes but none of them show the NJ I know & live. I’ve lived in Northern NJ & maybe the women are different. But nobody I know down here is a bimbo. Bikers chicks yes lol. Maybe I travel in a different circle with the horses & Harleys but I really don’t see women acting like any from these shows. And if my sons ever brought a bimbo home they wouldn’t be bringing her home to mommy again lol. How are you? Hugs ~Pandy~

Thanks. I checked Wiki and most are from Staten Island. One is from the Bronx and another is from Rhode Island. What a train wreck.

No. They aren't from the actual Jersey Shore. And when they are in the bars they have been known to start fights & there are lawsuits against the show & the members who have hit guys. My sons who do go to bars avoid the bars when this crew is around.

I just went over to Hulu.com and checked out a few clips. Incredible.

I watched “reality TV” debut on MTV back in the nineties with “The Real World” which started out in 1992 with some genuinely interesting and eclectic characters but which, over the course of about eight years, steadily degenerated until it became all about pretty, stupid, people behaving badly. I knew it had hit rock bottom in 1999 when MTV was peddling a DVD specifically dedicated to the nude and sex scenes that couldn’t be shown on the network.
