PC GURU'S (Burning Video To CD's

Posted on 07/24/2010 5:40:29 PM PDT by plinyelder

I have a bunch of video files on my pc that I would like to put on cd's.

Now, before you ask .. yes, I know that dvd is the medium for this but I have almost 200 cd's that are unused and I have read that you Can put videos on cd's and I Really, Really want to! lol

Some of the files are FLV some are Mpeg and some are avi.

I have all of the top software converting tools along with all of the top burning tools and have tried every way to convert and burn some of this stuff.

The 'one' success that I have had in getting a video to play .. 'only' plays with the Windows Media Player.

This same disk will not play on my blu-ray or my regular dvd player and will not Even play on my pc using the VLC media player which is unusual considering that Windows Media Player Will play it!?

Anywhere to find a step by step guide to do what I want? Any suggestions?<--- (No Wise Cracks Please) {8-)

I know that quality would be a factor here and I don't really care.

These videos are mostly .. Kicking Obama's A$$ videos! LOL (some full length videos)

Thanks

It has to do with the format. Not all players will play a CD or the mpeg and AVI file formats. Bluerays will definitely not read a cd.

Have you tried cdburnerxp? It works on XP, Vista, and Win 7. It claims it can burn video CDs, but I never tried one of those yet. Since you already have converting software, you should be set.

CDBurnerXP

Clock King

I really appreciate your help but .. I guess that what I am needing is a step by step guide to making video cd’s that will play on blu-ray or regular dvd players?

I just can’t seem to ‘grasp’ the concept!

You're kinda trying to making a chicken out of a horse and llama here.

You have a number of videos of different types that you want to compile into ONE big movie that you can play on a regular DVD player?

The software I use for converting a single file into a DVD iso is avi2dvd.

It works great, justs takes it a while to convert each file.

I can’t help you, since I download music from websites to cassettes. However, I read these threads with interest, since I’m curious about digitizing techniques, especially for analog materials.

Until I read this thread, I was unaware that video could be saved on CD’s.

NO!!

I don’t have a lot of movies/files that I want to put on disks!!

I have a number of video files .. In Different formats that I want to put on a cd.

I don’t want to put ‘them all’ on one disk.

I want to learn “HOW” to convert and put various video formats on a cd.

Fiji Hill .. Yes, you can put video on a cd.

Fiji Hill

You can put almost any video on a cd .. It’s just finding a way to put “streaming Video” on a cd that is a problem.

You can put Jpegs (still video/pictures) on a cd with no problem.

If you need to convert it to a different format, Handbrake is where it’s at.

For burning I use Nero, but there are free alternatives out there
