NOTE: I agree, but no punishment is complete without Hail Mary’s & Our Father’s

only later, post-Constantine, was the heirarchy established and the dogma laid down.

Lay down with dogma, wake up with fleas. Was that dogma on a lease?

You say potato...

The Romans ripped off the Greek Pantheon wholesale. It was why the conversion to Christianity was so easy, the Romans had a history of exchanging one state religion for another as the religious winds shifted.

Being crafty, the albino monks often don't wear the hoods and the knotted ropes around their middles and suchlike. But you can usually identify them by...

"The Look."

I hope this thread stays in breaking news forever. On the eve of the Apocalypse, things have been awfully grim around here lately. We can use the humor break, if you ask me. Ooops, I typed Apocalypse! Sorry if that's too Catholic.

Well, Presbyterians are *very clean*.

Seaman Anoreth is coming home in a couple of weeks and going to the beach with us. She says she won’t be doing any boating activities ;-), but she can lounge in the shade and watch the byos dig in the sand.

In the evenings, she can walk up to the stoplight, where there’s some business, and hang out with people who will say, “Have another Dr. Pepper, honey, since you been to SEA!”

Maybe you should rent your dogs rather than lease them.
That way you could return them sooner if they aren’t working out.

When people think prayer is punishment, that says something about them.

IMO, FR is being "bombarded with Catholic stuff" because some Roman Catholic apologists on the religion forum cannot support their opinions from Scripture, so they've taken to deluging FR with endless threads, some years old, all touting Rome, priests, the pope, Mary, the eucharist, and dozens of "conversion" stories, most of which have already been posted more than once.

But thanks for your observation as a Roman Catholic. A lot of us have witnessed this same compulsion to endlessly repost.

This is not to say FR doesn't need a religion forum. Politics and society benefit by a knowledgeable, balanced religious debate.

My general observation is that most people on the religion section of FR general post Catholic leaning articles and then there is a group of folks who post Calvinistic type articles. And there is usually a friendly (and sometimes not so friendlY) exchange that goes along those lines. Its usually transferred to the religion section of FR.

C’mon RM, you can be tougher than that! You were polite and informative, and this was a golden opportunity for a real grandstand ZOT!

Don’t they issue you html fireworks for just this kind of situation?

Don’t be a WEENIE! :>)

I always thought Presbydestrians were cardiopulmonarily fit.

You know, like "the quick and the dead."

I would love to treat Seaman Anoreth to a beer and pretels. Are you going to set up a fund?

When we were kids, my aunt told my cousin (her son) on a Saturday to ‘either go to confession or clean your room’.
My Cuz took the confession route. Got to church and to the confessional, did the act of of contrition
‘Bless me Father for I have sinned...
Then there was a pregant pause and the priest said
‘well what do you need to confess’
Cousin:
‘nothing Father my mom said either go to confession or clean your room, so here I am.
Priest:
‘ Say three Hail Marys and go home and clean your room’
True story. LOL

I agree with Anoreth: "Everyone is rude and they never wash or use deodorant."

That's why I stay out of the Religion Forum. I detest B.O. and being fed to lions. LOL

Here's the first rule, learner--- only in the Catholic bashing threads are hate-filled remarks allowed by the religion moderator from the so-called christians.
