It’s still hard for me to get myself to accept that there are alien beings out there, so I am always skeptical about claims like those made by the author. Yet, ever since I saw an unidentified object myself, which I have already spoken about on this forum, I have been interested in the subject. I just read “Witness to Roswell” earlier in the month, which explained to me why THIS incident caused the masses to beleive UFOs are real & why the story won’t go away.

Then I saw this book by Stan Romanek, in which he claims to have the most documentation to his incidents of any abductee, as well as witnesses, and I began to read it. I was surprised to find it was he who filmed the grey in the window, as I had seen that in the news awhile back.

He has a very low understanding of math, although a higher than average IQ, and had problems in school due to dyslexia. I wonder if he was ‘chosen’ because his brain functions differently than most. Perhaps that makes him a better subject somehow to accept & relay their message?

Certainly plausible. He does seem to have been very carefully chosen.

And, evidently he is also a hybrid . . . or at least has some ‘other’ DNA, IF their claims are accurate.

Heretic Among Heretics: Jacques Vallee Interview

Jacques Vallee hesitated before agreeing to be interviewed about the subject for which he's most famous: UFOs. It's not that he's reluctant to discuss the topic, or tussle with the skeptics. After all, he's written close to a dozen books on UFOs, several of them best-sellers, analyzing a notoriously ethereal subject as a hard-headed physical scientist, folklorist, and sociologist. He believes there is more than enough solid evidence to make a compelling case for the existence of UFOs, and he doesn't shy away from an honest debate.

It's the hard-core believers who give Vallee pause. Anyone who has observed the semi-academic cockpit known as "UFOlogy" knows that close encounters of the UFO expert kind shed little light and much heat, dogma and territorial sniping. Vallee's views about UFOs are far more exotic and far stranger than what he calls the reigning "nuts and bolts" approach to the subject. Consequently, he's been attacked by believers so often that he jokingly refers to himself a "heretic among heretics." As Vallee puts it, "I will be disappointed if UFOs turn out to be nothing more than spaceships."

In his recent autobiographical book, Forbidden Science, Vallee summed up his views about the provenance of UFOs, a viewpoint that he's developed through decades of research: "The UFO Phenomenon exists. It has been with us throughout history. It is physical in nature and it remains unexplained in terms of contemporary science. It represents a level of consciousness that we have not yet recognized, and which is able to manipulate dimensions beyond time and space as we understand them." So much for anti-gravity-powered starships ferrying Big Brothers from outer space. Vallee thinks UFOs are likely "windows" to other dimensions manipulated by intelligent, often mischievous, always enigmatic beings we have yet to understand. No other UFO researcher has contributed more to an admittedly controversial field. But Vallee commands a measure of respect that must leave his colleagues feeling a bit envious. Even Philip Klass, the avionics expert and the media's favorite UFO-debunker, calls Vallee "one of the more distinguished members of the pro-UFO community." Vallee, he adds, "is one of the brighter physical scientists who believes in UFOs."

Vallee moved to America from his native France in the early 1960s, as young astronomer-turned-computer scientist. Vallee pioneered the use of computers to analyze and categorize the UFO phenomenon, and his 1965 book, Anatomy of a Phenomenon, is still considered one of the most scholarly books on UFOs ever written. At Northwestern University, Vallee assisted Prof. J. Allen Hynek, the academic consultant on the Air Force's infamous Project Bluebook, now seen by most saucer students as either a half-hearted government effort to address the UFO craze of the 1950s and 1960s or a full-blown coverup. While working with Hynek, Vallee and his wife, Janine, compiled the first-ever computer database of UFO sightings.

In 1969, Vallee published another groundbreaking book, Passport to Magonia, in which he collected a body of folkloric "myths" that read remarkably like modern UFO encounters, from Celtic tales of fairyland abductions to Biblical passages and medieval chronicles of "visitors" from beyond. Building on Carl Jung's thesis that UFOs are a sociological phenomenon, a product of the collective unconscious, Vallee forever left behind the space-bound E.T. theorists. But his folklorist's approach to the problem would influence a number of later researchers and writers who continue to echo his ideas about other-dimensional forms of consciousness. Best-selling author Whitley Strieber, Harvard "abductee psychologist" John Mack, and journalist Keith Thompson (author of Angels and Aliens all owe a debt to Vallee. Stephen Spielberg paid homage to Vallee in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, basing his French scientist character (played by Francois Truffaut) on the real French UFO theorist.

We recently had lunch with Vallee in San Francisco at restaurant around the corner from the offices of his high-technology venture capital firm. Part 1 of that interview covers Vallee's theories about UFOs and his belief that science can penetrate mystery of flying disks and alien beings. In Part 2, which we'll publish later this month, Vallee discusses the second sphere of his researches: The connection between the UFO phenomenon and the religious impulse. Vallee believes that the intelligence guiding UFOs is a kind of control mechanism, an invisible hand shaping the development of human consciousness over a period of eons. In the second installment he also talks about the theory that from time to time governments have manipulated public opinion through UFO mythology--in some instances constructing elaborate hoaxes for propagandistic purposes.

60GCAT: Why are Americans obsessed with the idea that outer space aliens are the pilots of UFOs?

Vallee: I think Americans, if they are interested in the subject, are very literal. They want to kick the tires, which is a good American thing to do. They want to do reverse engineering on the propulsion system. And when I tell them, "Look, maybe those things don't have a propulsion system," you get a strange reaction. Just like, if you remember, in Close Encounters, the Truffaut character keeps going around saying this is a sociological phenomenon, not just physical. And he has a lot of trouble getting that idea across.

60GCAT: At one point you subscribed to the theory that UFOs might be extraterrestrial in origin. . . .

Vallee: When I met Stephen Spielberg, I argued with him that the subject was even more interesting if it wasn't extraterrestrials. If it was real, physical, but not ET. So he said, "You're probably right, but that's not what the public is expecting--this is Hollywood and I want to give people something that's close to what they expect." Which is fair.

60GCAT: So what do we know for sure about the nature of UFOs?

Vallee: There is a phenomenon. We don't know where it comes from. It's characterized by its physical [traces]. Eighty percent of all the cases have trivial explanations. But I'm talking about the core phenomena. It seems to involve a lot of energy in a small space; it seems to involve pulsed microwaves, among other things. There isn't much that is known about the effect of pulsed microwaves on the brain, so it's quite possible that some of the stories that you get from people are essentially induced hallucinations in sincere witnesses--the witnesses are not lying. They really have been exposed to something genuine but there is no way to go back to what that thing was, based on their description, because their brain has been affected by proximity to that energy.

Having said that, I have plenty of colleagues in science and technology I respect who tell me this could be a natural phenomenon--this could be an undiscovered form of energy in the atmosphere. We don't know much about the effect of electromagnetic fields on the nervous system. We're going to be discovering that as we go. So, it's quite possible that there could be a phenomenon like that, a very spontaneous thing. Or it could be artificial. If it's artificial it could come from another form of consciousness, which may or may not be extraterrestrial. It's a big universe out there. Who are we to say where it comes from? We can only speculate on that point.

60GCAT: How can we use our own comparatively backward technology to investigate this mystery?

Vallee: Where I think that technology can be of help is in looking for patterns. And I did as much of that as anybody else. I built, with my wife, the first computer database of UFO sightings. But where I think computers could be used much better is in applying artificial intelligence, reason, and inference to eliminating the reports that have natural causes. I developed a software prototype of that, which was called OVNIBASE, which I turned over to the French CNES; presumably they are developing a next version of it, and running it on their database.

60GCAT: What about other technologies that can help us analyze evidence better than we could, say, 10 years ago?

Vallee: Digital enhancement of photographs is very useful. In my book, Confrontations, I mention the photograph that I brought back from Costa Rica, which was unusual because the object was over a lake [Lago de Cote], so there was a uniform black background. Everything is known about the aircraft that took the photo. At the time the picture was taken [in 1971], nobody on the plane had seen the object. It was only after the film was developed that the object was discovered. The camera used was exceptional: It produced a very large negative--ten inches, very detailed. You can see cows in the field. The time is known; the latitude, longitude and attitude of the aircraft is known. So we spent a lot of time analyzing that photograph, without being able to find any obvious natural answer to the object. It seems to be a very large, solid thing.

I obtained the negative from the government of Costa Rica--if you don't have the negative, analysis is a waste of time. I also obtained the negative of the picture taken before and the picture after, all uncut. I took negatives to a friend of mine in France who works for a firm that digitally analyzes satellite photographs. They digitized the entire thing, and then analyzed it to the extent that they could, and could not find an explanation for the object.

60GCAT: It's hard for Americans to grasp the idea that UFOs might be a manifestation the other-dimensional. . . .

Vallee: You have to keep an open mind. What I try to do is what any cop would do: I try to listen to the witnesses instead of printing my own theories. Theories are a dime a dozen. They don't do any good. It's much more useful, I think, just to listen to what people are telling you, and I've been trying to do that not just in the U.S., but also in Europe and other places I've visited, like Brazil and Argentina, and try to look for patterns.

60GCAT: You're a bit of a controversial figure among UFO researchers, mainly because you entertain theories more exotic than the UFOs-are-from-outer-space paradigm.

Vallee: I've antagonized a number of the believers in UFOs. Number one, because I'm not ready to jump to any conclusion that it's necessarily extraterrestrial--we're not smart enough to know what they are at this point. And the research has not been done. I certainly remember enough of my training in astronomy to tell you that the universe is big enough to have other forms of life than us; at least we hope that it does. But so far we cannot prove it. So we cannot see how they would come here--they probably would be much advanced with respect to our physics, and they would have found a way to do it. But that does not explain UFOs.

I've also antagonized a lot of people because I think that the way abductions are being handled is wrong. It's not only wrong scientifically, it's wrong morally and ethically. I've been telling people, don't let anyone hypnotize you if you've seen a strange light in the sky. I think a lot of those people prominent in the press and in the National Enquirer and in the talk shows and so on are creating abductees under hypnosis. They are hypnotizing everybody who's ever had a strange experience and telling them they are abductees by suggestion. And they are doing that in good faith. They don't realize what they are doing. But to my way of thinking, that's unethical.

60GCAT: What do you think of John Mack, the Harvard psychologist who believes that alien abductions are a real phenomenon? Of course, he uses hypnosis on his patients to liberate "repressed memories" of those abductions.

Vallee: I respect him for his courage in addressing the issue, but I don't agree with his methods.

I've taken some witnesses who wanted to be hypnotized, taken them to specialists in two cases out of maybe 70 cases of abductions that I've studied. And usually the specialists tell me that hypnosis is not necessarily the best way of helping these people. Nor is it the best way to recover memories. It may help in very specific cases. But I've never hypnotized anybody--I'm not qualified to do it.

60GCAT: How did you first become interested in UFOs and paranormal phenomena?

Vallee: I started out wanting to do astronomy and I ruined essentially a perfectly good career in science by becoming interested in computers. This was in France in the early days of computing and the earliest days of satellites and space exploration. So I took some of the earliest computer courses at French universities.

My first job was at Paris observatory, tracking satellites. And we started tracking objects that were not satellites, were fairly elusive, and so we decided that we would pay attention to those objects even though they were not on the schedule of normal satellites. And one night we got eleven data points on one of these objects--it was very bright. It was also retrograde. This was at a time when there was no rocket powerful enough to launch a retrograde satellite, a satellite that goes around opposite to the rotation of the earth, where you obviously need to overcome the earth's gravity going the other direction. You have to reach escape velocity in the direction opposite the rotation of the earth, which takes a lot more energy than the direct direction. And the man in charge of the project confiscated the tape and erased it the next morning.

So that's really what got me interested. Because up to then I thought, Scientists don't seem to be interested in UFOs, astronomers don't report anything unusual in the sky, so there probably isn't anything to it. Effectively, I was in the same position that most scientists are in today--you trust your colleagues, and because you don't see any reports from credible, technical witnesses, you assume that there is nothing. And there I was with a technical report--I don't know what it was. It wasn't a flying saucer--it didn't land close to the observatory. But still, it was a mystery. And instead of looking at the data and preserving the data, we were destroying it.

60GCAT: Why did he destroy it?

Vallee: Just fear of ridicule. He thought that the Americans would laugh at us, if we sent it--all of the data on satellites was being concentrated in the U.S. And we were exchanging our data with international bodies. And he just didn't want Paris observatory to look silly by reporting some thing that he could not identify in the sky. [This was in] 1961. Later I found out that other observatories had made exactly the same observation, and that in fact American tracking stations had photographed the same thing and could not identify it either. It was a first magnitude object: it was as bright as [the star] Sirius. You couldn't miss it. It didn't reappear in successive weeks. It's just a little anecdote, but to me that fact that we destroyed it was more important than what we saw. And that reopened the whole question for me: Are there things that scientists are observing and not talking about? And then I started extending a small network of scientists, which is still active, and found that there was a lot of data that was never published. In fact, the best data has never been published. I think a great deal of the misunderstanding about UFOs among scientists is that the scientists have never had access to the best data.

60GCAT: Why has the best data never been published?

Vallee: I talk to a lot of technical companies where the executives are aware of my interests, and I've had a lot of reports under seal of confidentiality from people in science and in business who had seen things. About a year ago, a vice president at IBM took me aside after a conference and said, "Are you the same Jacques Vallee who is interested in UFOs?" And he described a perfectly classic UFO close encounter story that he and his family had in upstate New York. This is not something that is going to be in the National Enquirer.

I met a man who is president of a technical company in Silicon Valley; he wanted to tell me about his experiences. He had been a very-high ranking naval officer in command of a large ship, and he had three experiences with UFOs, two of them in the service in very sensitive positions--and at one time when he was a test pilot. He has never reported any of the encounters, even when he was a pilot. I said, "Weren't you under obligation to report it?" And he said, "Maybe I was, but if they have the slightest doubt about what you are seeing up there, you are [considered to be] crazy--they won't let you near the cockpit of an experimental plane." And he said, "If you're a pilot, you want to fly. You don't want to spend the next month filling out forms for a bunch of psychiatrics." Which is what will happen. I think any pilot will tell you the same thing, you know, over a beer. So those are the cases that I'm interested in. The cases that have not been reported in the press, haven't been distorted in the retelling. When I have time, I follow up on those cases with my own resources basically out of curiosity, with no preconceived idea.

60GCAT: But skeptics always argue that even though there may be anecdotal evidence, there's no hard scientific data. . . .

Vallee: There is plenty of data--and it should be analyzed further. But I do not think it's going to be a propeller from a flying saucer. I think it is going to be things that would be interesting if you could find a pattern to the material. I'm skeptical about stories of crashed saucers; I have an open mind about it, but I've heard those stories for so many years and they never really amount to anything tangible. Also, I am skeptical for another reason: We build technologies now that are extremely reliable where there is the need. How often does your hard disk crash? I mean, if you keep your computer for 15 years, eventually the hard disk is going to crash. But you don't expect that to happen. If you were going to build a technology that takes you across interstellar space, it would have to be extremely reliable.

60GCAT: In your books, you detail the hard data turned up in European investigations.

Vallee: There is a small unit of the CNES, which is the French equivalent of NASA, that has permission to investigate any cases of UFOs. They were set up in the mid-'70s and they've been going ever since. They found a number of cases that couldn't be explained, and some cases were never published with all the data. Cases where there were traces on the ground, where there was evidence of heat, evidence of radiation, including pulsed microwave radiation, and evidence of plants being affected. Again, that doesn't prove anything. It just proves that there was something there. It doesn't tell you what it was. But it certainly is a valid technical issue.

This data doesn't tell you if the phenomenon is natural or not, because it doesn't tell you enough about the conditions where that happened. And that's where I think a lot more research should be done. People have come to me saying, "Look, I was a pilot or in a radar station in Alaska, and we were tracking UFOs--we recorded the data, and I was a pilot and followed one of those things and got gun camera footage of it. When I landed there was a guy waiting for me, in blue jeans and a sweater, who said, 'You didn't see anything up there.'" Meanwhile, a guy with a screwdriver is unhooking the camera from the fuselage. Usually witnesses have no idea where those guys come from. But somebody has a lot of data; and I think that this hard data should be turned over to science, certainly the stuff from 20 years ago--I mean, how classified can it be? By now, we should have known if it was an enemy, so we should turn over the data to the scientific community. Let the skeptics analyze it from their point of view and let anyone else analyze it from their point of view. That's the way science should be done.

EDITOR'S REVELATION: In Part 1 of our interview with UFO sleuth/computer conferencing pioneer Jacques Vallee, we looked at some of the scientific evidence bolstering the contention that UFOs are a real, measurable phenomenon. In Part 2, below, Vallee continues this theme as he talks about his samples of "liquid sky"--the metallic debris occasionally seen ejected from flying disks.
Then hold on to your propeller beanie as we depart four-dimensional time space and look at some of Vallee's more exotic theories about the origin of UFOs. As Vallee puts it, "The UFO phenomenon exists. It has been with us throughout history. It is physical in nature and it remains unexplained in terms of contemporary science. It represents a level of consciousness that we have not yet recognized, and which is able to manipulate dimensions beyond time and space as we understand them. It affects our own consciousness in ways that we do not grasp fully, and it generally behaves as a control system."

Vallee refers to this complex system of control--which is shaping human society over the course of thousands of years--as an "interface of reality with consciousness." It sounds a lot like Arthur C. Clarke's science fictional theme in 2001: A Space Odyssey--an alien intelligence subtly directing the course of human development, toward mysterious ends. Talk about your cosmic conspiracies!

But Vallee also has controversial ideas about human-made UFO conspiracies. "I was investigating some cases that were physically real," he says, "but they were hoaxes--yet not hoaxes on the part of the witnesses."

The two most stunning cases of faked UFO events that Vallee has uncovered occurred rather recently in the history of saucer sightings. In 1980, a strange object purportedly "crashed" in England's Rendlesham Forest, a few miles away from an American Air Force Base. Dozens of military personnel were dispatched into the forest, without weapons, before the supposed crash of a luminous object. After the incident conflicting stories leaked to the press and to civilian investigators, some of the leaks apparently originating from the front office of the military base. Vallee's conclusion--controversial among UFO believers who insist that aliens touched down in Rendlesham Forest--is that "the event had all the earmarks of being staged for the benefit of the witnesses, perhaps so that their psychological reactions could be studied."

Even more bizarre is the information turned up by French investigators in the wake of a bizarre 1979 abduction case. An unemployed young man named Franck Fontaine disappeared outside of his apartment one morning, reportedly after his friends saw him enveloped in a luminous fog. After a week of frenzied press coverage and a fruitless search by the authorities, Fontaine turned up in a field outside the apartment--with no memory of his unusual experience. His friends insisted he had been abducted by a UFO, and police investigators, though they doubted that claim, found no other satisfactory explanation.

But as Vallee reports, investigators from GEPAN, the French government's aerial phenomena study group, were led to an official in the French Ministry of Defense who willingly described the so-called UFO abduction as an "Exercise of General Synthesis." What happened to Fontaine? "We put him to sleep and he was put under an altered state of high suggestibility," replied the official. When asked if the "exercise" was intended to test the investigative abilities of local law enforcement agencies, the official said, "That would be a fair way to describe it." Then he added, ominously, "If this operation had been completed, the next phase would have been far worse." As Vallee notes in his best-selling book, Revelations, "It would be fair to assume that the [Fontaine] operation could have been a test, perhaps a prelude to an experiment of wider scope."

Vallee says he knows the name of the French official, an Air Force officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

So what on earth--to pick an appropriate planet--is going on? Vallee has several theories that might explain such UFO flimflam. The military may be experimenting with psychological warfare techniques, as the Germans did in World War I, when they projected images of the Virgin Mary on banks of smoke in an effort to spook the French into saying their Rosaries instead of killing Germans. Vallee also thinks that sham UFO reports might be used as cover for tests of new military stealth technology.

But the most troubling "deception theory" Vallee poses is that from time to time, the target of UFO hoaxes might be the general public, or a segment thereof.

"In some cases," he says, "the community of ufologists may simply be used in a sociological experiment because they are a convenient group of people to test, to see how they react to different rumors."

Sounds a bit improbable, but Vallee's research into the growth of UFO "contactee" cults is suggests that such manipulation occurs. In his book, Messengers of Deception, Vallee explored the rise of a new kind of religious movement throughout the world: the UFO Messiah cults, in which believers await the coming of bubble-headed saviors in saucers. Study: Be Wary of Space Visitors

When considering the prospect of alien life, humankind should prepare for the worst, according to a new study: Either we're alone, or any aliens out there are acquisitive and resource-hungry, just like us.

These two unpalatable options are pretty much the only possibilities, according to the new study. That's because evolution is predictable, and alien biospheres should thus produce intelligent creatures much like us, with technological prowess and an ever-increasing need for resources.

But the fact that we haven't run across E.T. yet argues strongly for the latter possibility -- that we are alone in the universe's howling void, the study suggests.

"At present, as many have observed, it is very quiet out there," study author Simon Conway Morris, of the University of Cambridge, told SPACE.com in an e-mail interview. "And given many planetary systems are billions of years older than ours, I'd expect us to be best grilled on toast back in the Cambrian."

Further, Conway Morris says, evolution operates predictably, producing relatively predictable outcomes. These two suppositions argue that alien life, if it exists, should be fairly similar to terrestrial life, generating intelligent beings much like us. These aliens may look unfamiliar, but any differences would be skin-deep.

There is reason to be wary of such creatures, according to Conway Morris.

"If intelligent aliens exist, they will look just like us, and given our far-from-glorious history, this should give us pause for thought," he writes in the study, which was published today (Jan. 10) in the journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A.

Other researchers have raised this same point. The eminent physicist Stephen Hawking, for example, recently warned that aliens may be more interested in mining our planet for vital resources than in getting to know us.

The prospect of greedy, imperialistic aliens is a troubling one, but Conway Morris thinks another scenario -- also depressing -- is more likely to be true.

We're likely alone in the universe, he writes. The cosmos is almost inconceivably vast, likely harboring at least 100 billion galaxies. And our solar system is relatively young compared to the rest of the universe -- 4.6 billion years versus 13.7 billion years.

So there should have been plenty of time and opportunity for many alien civilizations to get a sizable evolutionary head start. The fact that E.T. seemingly hasn't contacted us is a strong indication that he's just not out there, according to Conway Morris.

The huge distances that would likely separate potential alien civilizations don't present an insuperable barrier to contact, Conway Morris said.

"At least so far as this galaxy is concerned, a distance of circa 100,000 light years doesn't seem insurmountable, given a relatively slow diffusion rate and a geometrical rate of establishment of colonies," he said.

Welcoming Aliens with Open Arms?

While Conway Morris' study recommends caution when considering the possibility of alien life, another new report suggests that humanity would probably be happy to learn that we're not alone.

Writing in the same issue of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A, psychologist Albert Harrison predicts that the discovery of alien life -- should it happen anytime soon -- would be more likely to inspire delight than incite pandemonium here on Earth.

That's partly because E.T. would probably seem pretty non-threatening, and fairly abstract, when we first discover it. The first evidence of alien life would likely be a microbe from Mars or other solar system body, or an electromagnetic signal snagged out of the air, according to Harrison.

"This is how we're looking systematically for extraterrestrial life," Harrison, a psychology professor at the University of California, Davis, told SPACE.com. "Because this is where we're looking, this is where we're likely to find it."

Either way, such a discovery would be a far cry from "War of the Worlds"-style invading spaceships. There may be some ambiguity and uncertainty involved, especially with an electromagnetic signal, which could be tough to interpret. But that shouldn't be a major problem, according to Harrison.

January 2, 2011 Woodbridge, Suffolk, England - Around 3 AM on December 26, 1980, USAF Airman 1st Class John Burroughs and Staff Sergeant James Penniston, that night assigned as RAF Woodbridge Security Supervisor, were on foot running through the eastern end of Rendlesham Forest that bordered the Capel Green and larger farm fields. Time was distorted for both of them as John and Jim felt like they were moving in slow motion. Each man says their skin tingled and hair on their heads and necks rose as if in a strong electrostatic field, similar to the atmosphere before a big thunderstorm. But it was a cold, clear winter night.

At some point in that run through the eastern end of that thick, tall Rendlesham Forest, Sgt. Penniston “lost John.” For at least forty-five minutes, Jim Penniston was stunned and mesmerized by a black, triangular, glassy-surfaced craft of unknown origin resting on the forest floor not far from the open farm field at Capel Green.

And then throughout the fabric of the craft, there was some coloring varying from saucer-shaped to pie-shaped circles that moved around the craft. Some were red and blue, some yellow – or orange – I guess more orange.

… there were markings on the craft, which were very unusual.
Probably 2.5 to 3 feet wide. If you had a sheet of smooth glass and you took a piece of sandpaper and you laid it on that glass, running from the glass to the sandpaper – that’s how it felt.

Here’s something that is odd. I lost track of John for like 45 minutes or so. I don’t know where he was. There was like a 45-minute gap of time there, which seemed like – I don’t know – a couple of minutes. I don’t know what caused the distortion.”

He said the symbols were raised like Braille on the surface of the black, glassy, triangular

I had this feeling and the feeling was that there would be a return sometime of that craft. I don’t know. It was just a very odd thought.”

Like John Burroughs, Jim Penniston has been frustrated by memory blocks about what happened on December 26th in Rendlesham Forest – and what happened to him a few days later when Sgt. Penniston was ordered to report to the Bentwaters Air Force Office of Special Investigations – also known as AFOSI. There Jim was further ordered to undergo hypnosis with sodium pentothal. After that, Sgt. Penniston wondered what the U. K. and American intelligence people did during the several hours that Sgt. Penniston was hypnotized? What did they learn from his mind about his and John's encounter on December 26, 1980, with the lights and craft that he could not remember clearly himself?

So, fourteen years later, on August 26, 1994, Jim underwent his own hypnosis with a hypnotherapist to see if he could find out more. I could relate to sightings of the UFO light orbs that some callers mentioned.
When I was on active duty in the Navy during the Vietnam war, we witnessed a similar event in the Tonkin Gulf about 70 miles off the coast of North Vietnam. As I recall the event, I was on watch on the 07 level (above the carriers bridge deck on the island structure).
The flight deck crew was in the process of re-arming and re-fueling the squadron air wings on the flight deck. As it was night, all work was done under the red combat lighting. At about 0200 hrs., my 07 level watch noticed what appeared to be an air contact just off the port bow at about 25 degrees elevation. We immediately contacted CIC (Combat Information Center) and advised them of this. However, they held no air contacts at all on any of their radar screens.
As we continued to observe the "contact," it suddenly grew to about 4 - 5 times its size in the shape of a of a roundish, orb-like object with what appeared to be flashing red, green and orange lights. All this transpired in a matter of seconds. While its relative elevation remained about the same as when we first saw it as a point of light, it was difficult to even venture a guess as to its range from our ship. Still at this point no radar contacts were made.
The interesting thing, was that as soon as the unidentified (UFO) contact grew in size and displayed the multi-colored, flashing lights, all exterior ships lighting immediately went out creating an extreme hazard for the flight deck crew as it was a moonless night. In addition at the same instant, all our ships radar systems went down and the antennas high above us stopped turning.
Further, our Captain had been in conversation with the Captain of the destroyer (about 1/2 mile aft of us) that served as our plane guard. Their ship-to-ship phone comms ceased at the same time.
The aerial object continued to hover in the same place for about 40 - 50 seconds and then it suddenly streaked off up into the night sky. As soon as this happened, the flight deck lights, radar, ship comms returned to normal, but no contacts on radar were made - even as the contact object sped away. The same conditions happened aboard the destroyer as well.
My carrier was the USS Bon Homme Richard - CVA-31. We had some nuclear weapons onboard - perhaps this is what attracted whatever it was.
About two months later while on R&R in Singapore, several of us who had witnessed the incident in July 1968 met some Australian destroyer sailors who related a similar incident, but of the submerged variety while on an exercise tracking one of their subs. They too had massive electronic malfunctions and lost all sonar and radar capabilities for the entire time of the encounter, which lasted about 1 minute.

Shortly after the July 1968 incident, my ship was heading to Subic Bay in the Philippines. One of our Squadron's A-4 Skyhawk fighters was to rejoin the ship en route as we left the South China Sea.
That Skyhawk disappeared without a trace on a cloudless day in perfect flying weather. As it was well past the coast, any enemy contact was ruled out as well as anything mechanical. I'm sure that entry in the ships log probably doesn't exist!”

Subject: Black Triangle Craft and Multi-Colored Lights

I was listening to you on Coast to Coast AM last night, but was unable to get through the phone lines with my story. I think you will find it interesting because it suggests a link between black triangle craft sightings and sightings of rotating, multi-colored lights.
Once I was close enough to see the source of the light, I first thought I was looking at a baseball scoreboard, because I saw red and white lighting coming from an object that appeared to be a black rectangle on top of a signpost. Then I noted that the shape was too far away from the baseball fields to be a scoreboard and that the lights were coming from underneath it. The "signpost" I saw was actually a pole for a power line, and the "rectangle" was actually a black, triangular object levitating about a foot over the top of the pole.

The top and bottom of the object were equilateral triangles that ended in sharp points and the three sides were rectangles. From tip to base, I would estimate that the craft was about fifteen feet long. In the center of the underside of the craft was a circular, red light. At each "tip" of the underside were smaller, circular, white lights. If a pole for a power line is twenty-five feet tall, then the object was no more than twenty-six to twenty-seven feet up in the air. It made absolutely no sound, nor did it seem to hover up and down. The object was completely still in the air.

I drove all the way up to the location of the object. I actually pulled over on the side of the road opposite where the object was levitating. For a few seconds the object remained motionless, then made a very precise turn in the air. The object turned as if it was on top of a dais. The center point of the object remained in the same position before and after the turn. One tip of the object was then pointed in the direction of my vehicle. Immediately after the turn, the object drifted soundlessly to a position directly above my vehicle.

At that point I put my gas pedal to the floor and sped away down the road that ran alongside Munny-Sokol park, in the opposite direction from Union Chapel Road! I continued to watch the position of the object in my rearview mirror as I sped away. The object did not follow me but continued to move forward over an area that is now Ol' Colony Golf Complex. I turned right towards Verner school and then managed to steel my nerves enough to turn around and see if the object was still in the area. When I came back down the road in the direction of Union Chapel Road, the object was gone.

As I approached the elbow, at a distance of no more than one hundred feet from the turn, I immediately saw flashing yellow and white lights from directly in front of me. Thinking that a wrecker or a semi was coming from around the other side of the elbow, I pulled over to the side of the road. I continued to watch the lights but no vehicle ever came, and then I realized that the lights were not from a source that was on the other side of the elbow; the lights were coming from a source that was directly in front of me but just off of the road. Suddenly the lights changed from yellow and white to yellow, white, red, blue, and green. Then the lights stopped. I drove all the way up to where the road turns and got out of my vehicle, but I could not see any object at the place where the lights were coming from.

During the winter of 1999-2000, I kept seeing orange lights in the sky over an area that has several gold mines on my way to and from work. Then in the summer of 2000, one of those lights actually flew above my garden, stopped and I watched it for about 1 minute before it turned direction and flew off.

I live 50 miles southwest of Fairbanks, Alaska. During that time I worked in Fairbanks and had a long commute early in the morning between 6:00am and 7:00am and then leaving work around 5:00pm and arriving home around 6:00pm. Our long winter nights meant driving in the dark both ways. The winter sightings were so odd, I couldn’t believe that no one was reporting these sightings to the local paper. These orange lights reminded me of sodium street lights in color and intensity of glow. They were quite big, maybe 30 feet in diameter and only a couple hundred feet in the air.
I know they were low in the sky because as I was driving into Fairbanks from the Parks Hwy you come down Ester Hill that overlooks the city. I could see these orbs below me as I was descending down the hill. When you reach the bottom of Ester hill there is a community with the same name that is surrounded by hills that have several gold mines there. There is also a State of Alaska weigh station on the right side of the highway directly across from the access road to Ester. This area was mined heavily by dredges years ago. I personally know one of the families that owns one of the mines. These lights would be hovering over the mines. Sometimes over the mines to the left of the highway and sometimes over the mines to the right of the highway. I saw them every day for months.
I told my coworkers and husband about these but of course they laughed. So, I never reported this to the police or called FAA. I was surprised that no one in that area reported them anywhere. Then I saw on the UFO reporting center website that a husband and wife saw these orange orbs in their backyard during the same time. They live in North Pole with is about 12 miles east of Fairbanks. I am attaching their UFO reports to this email. After a couple of months the lights disappeared until I had a close encounter with one at my home.

It was the following July 2000 during our 24 hours of summer daylight and it was hot. I had gotten out of bed because I couldn’t sleep and had wandered into the bathroom to look out the open window trying to catch a breeze to cool down. I live on 5 acres with 2 acres cleared. The view out my windows is to the NW sky. Even though I live in a subdivision the closest neighbor is ½ mile away, all I see out my windows is wilderness. As I looked out the window I saw a salmon orange globe approximately 30 feet in diameter approach from the NW towards my garden. It stopped about 20 feet above the 60 foot trees that line the north side of the garden. The globe looked like a 30 foot diameter pale salmon colored transparent glass ball.
Inside the globe, half the diameter of the outside surface was a darker salmon orange globe that was not transparent and in the center of the darker globe was a steady brilliant white light. It was hard to tell the size of the white light because of the brilliance. This ball /globe was not glowing or pulsing. It just looked like a transparent salmon colored Christmas ornament with something darker inside with a very shiny light on it. I remember feeling a shock as the hair stood up on the back of my neck and arms and I had the distinct feeling that I was being watched. Although I did not see any type of creature or movement from inside the globe, I started to think the words “Don’t scare me now.” and with that thought the object made a left angle turn and took off to the north.

I'm a very private man living a not so private life and well, to be honest I've kept my secret a long time and I just don't want anyone I know either personally or in my business life to know anything about what happened to me. I've never told a soul and I had planned on spending my entire life without doing so.

Last week I listened to your November interview as that Texas nurse told her story about the bark-skinned creatures and thought to myself, bark? Then my mind wondered as to maybe she means like the bark of a birch or similar tree that is just a little bit rough and not as deep as perhaps a much larger tree such as an oak. After picturing them as so in my mind's eye, I became a little un-nerved to the idea, she might be telling the truth.

But your December 2010 Earthfiles and Coast interviews scared the bejezus out of me!
At 40 years of age, I thought I was through having the nightmares but, you gave me a doozy this past Sunday. I was catching up on my coast podcasts laying in bed waiting for the sandman to come and do his trick when I got to the story of the man taken in 1977 by the green-skinned fellas. The story of his kid's night terrors really got to me as I too was a young boy at the very same time having the very same horrors of my own to deal with.
Then at the end of the first half hour of the interview, you mentioned lizard skin. I had to turn it off at that point, I just couldn't listen any more - it brought back a memory, a very scary memory. A couple hours later my wife woke me up because I was, as she told me, making horrible sounds, bouncing and rolling around in the bed and sweating bullets.

I will say this much - they ain't gray (where that ever came from? I'm sure I'll never know) and their skin ain't smooth. I know! I've been face-to-face with them, I even hugged one when I was seven years old, yes that's the honest truth and I know what their alien skin looks like up close. It (their skin) always sort of reminded of a brown anole lizard - though maybe just a bit lighter but, the texture is a spot on perfect match, very thin, light and leathery. I remember it so vividly because unlike my experience as a child there was no tinkering with my brain to help me block or forget it the second time as an adult, I woke up fully aware of what just happened just a few hours prior.

Modern civilisation is fragile and unsustainable; we lack the knowledge and skills to survive without daily support by technology and civilised society, and we will almost universally not survive the approaching cataclysm. (In contrast, Neolithic civilization (e.g. native North American) is sustainable, with individuals and small groups being self-sufficient, and it would have been resilient to mass-extinction events.)

The events which will lead to our demise are well understood, and for convenience we may divide these into six main categories.

* Comet or asteroid impact

A significant impact or shower of impacts, capable of eliminating most life on the surface of the planet, causing the extinction of numerous species, is inevitable. The Earth is regularly struck by comets and meteorites. We may have prior warning of years, hours, or none at all.

A single major impact could easily cause multiple secondary impacts over an entire hemisphere, generate super-Tsunami waves hundreds of feet high travelling at the speed of sound, sweeping clear large areas of the planet. Long-term effects include global climate changes more than sufficient to stimulate the next ice age.

E.g. On 13 January 2004 scientists were �minutes� away from formally announcing to the government that the Earth was going to be hit �within 36 hours� by asteroid 2004 AS1. At the time, the estimated diameter of the object was only 30 metres; large enough to vaporise a major city. Later observations confirmed that it was an extremely dense rock 500 metre wide, capable of causing destruction on a continental scale.

E.g. The asteroid Apophis follows a path which could lead it to collide with our planet on 13 April 2036. The best opportunity to intercept it and prevent a future collision will be in 2029 during a near-miss.

* Supervolcano eruption

There are eight known supervolcanos in the world, two of which are in Europe and one in North America. There are probably many more which have not yet been discovered, both on land and beneath the ocean. A supervolcano is always cataclysmic event. A single supervolcano eruption causes serious problems on a global scale.

Global Food Supplies Stretched to Limit, page 1

Strained by rising demand and battered by bad weather, the global food supply chain is stretched to the limit, sending prices soaring and sparking concerns about a repeat of food riots last seen three years ago. Signs of the strain can be found from Australia to Argentina, Canada to Russia.

-"We are entering a danger territory," Abdolreza Abbassian, chief economist at the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), said last week.

-As supplies tighten, prices surge. Earlier this month, the FAO said its food price index jumped 32 percent in the second half of 2010, soaring past the previous record set in 2008.

-"I haven't seen numbers this low that I can remember in the last 20 or 30 years," said Dennis Conley, an agricultural economist at the University of Nebraska. "We are at record low stocks. 2011- The Disclosure Deadline Has Ended And Now Change Is Coming , page 1

A long time ago there was an agreement, the ebe's gave technology specifically to the US government to better this planet and its people. In return the ebe's were allowed to abduct human beings for their own agenda(s) this agreement was given a deadline. That deadline has come and gone, and still no disclosure.

The US government, well ok, lets gets this straight, not the US government as we know it, although they are made aware of alien presence they do not monitor it. I am talking about a government within a government orchestrated by a small select of elites, that control a vast network of power. These elites have been running the show for a long time now. Anyway the US government (within government) decided to use this technology for military purposes, this includes, weather alteration, laser beam technology,cloaking,inter-dimensional travel and many more such amazing technology. This technology is being used to make people rich and very powerful.

The ebe's have stepped back and not interfered, mainly because they do not care (in the sense of compassion) for hu-mans, they only care (in a sense of thier job) for the earth. Our governments know what is coming and are trying so desperately to do something about it to save themselves. These people do not give a rats arse about anyone but themselves. Their egos are so inflated that they cannot see what their actions are doing anymore,

When you have killed one person, whats another 10000+ they are just dots on a screen to them. For people thinking that ET are going to save the day, IMHO its not going to happen, unless of course I am completely wrong and I have misunderstood.(I pray that the case)

The time frame of this disclosure has come and gone like I said and still nothing is said to the people, we can't handle the truth apparently. Instead we get to watch documentaries and movies on the subject to sow the seeds. Its to late for that, the time is coming and I am not the only one that can feel it. General census is that there is something happening in the way people are opening up about their beliefs, as though a time has come where thinking outside the box is accepted. Is it too late?

From what I understand something is coming that will shock our very core of existence, our entire lives are about to change and there is nothing we can do about it and guess what there is a twist in all of this.

Our governments and leaders who have kept this secret for so long, who have murdered many to keep the secret want forgiveness, they do not want to face any trial for their crimes and it appears that ET are going to grant them that when they show themselves. I for one do not feel that I can forgive these people. So many innocent hu-man beings have died so that the people in charge can have more power and more money and more greed. So many innocent free energy scientists have perished at the hands of the corrupted people.

I can't say for sure when but we are about to see just how far ET has infiltrated hu-man life here on earth, we are about to be shown that all is not what it seems.
