The McRib is back.

This morning, McDonald's announced via its official Twitter account that its storied pork sandwich would return to locations nationwide in a few weeks.

"Turns out we're not good at keeping secrets. The rumors are true. McRib returns Nov. 2 for a limited time," the post read.

In another Twitter post, McDonald's noted that this marks the first time McRibs have returned to restaurants nationwide in 16 years. The sandwich has made encore appearances in different McDonald's markets in the past few years.

I wonder how many decades it takes the McRibb to decompose.

There are a couple of menu items that I remember from my childhood and wish that McDonalds would bring them back.

The first item is the Shamrock Shake. This was a minty-green milkshake that was on the menu during March (in honor of St. Patrick's Day). I really miss that shake.

The other item was the fried-clam belly roll. Basically it a clump of delicious fried clam bellies (without the strips) jammed into a toasted, buttered roll.

Both these items disappeared from menus after the 1970s and that was a real shame.

...this also good news for the nation’s pork producers...when MCD moves into a market niche they can really drive prices.

Why is there pork in it? I thought as long as they slit the pigs throat while the the mullah was praying behind it on his knees it was ok.

You’re in luck! (unintended pun, but guess it works LOL)

Here in the Pocono Mountains.... our local McDonalds has the Shamrock Shake every spring for several weeks. Come visit :-)
