Ted Williams -- the homeless man with the "Golden Voice" -- has left rehab against medical advice, less than two weeks after checking in for drug and alcohol dependency ... TMZ has learned.
Our sources say Ted -- who decided to go to rehab earlier this month after a taping of the Dr. Phil show -- left the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas moments ago and is on his way to the airport.
Ted's girlfriend is currently in rehab at the Safe Harbor facility in Costa Mesa, California.
Story developing...
Years ago I had a story published online about being a Pistachio NUt addict. So what happened? A pistachio nut company e-mailed me and asked if they could publish it on their site. I gave my permission and the next thing I knew they sent me a 10 lb. bag of pistachio nuts. Got me addicted all over again.
Just can’t leave your nuts alone, huh?
Further proof that homelessness is a choice.
Didn’t Howe snort coke right after doing a TV show in which he claimed to have sworn off the habit?
AMEN!!!
oops, I thought it meant hewlitt packard. silly me.
He said he swore off the HABIT.
He didn't say he swore off the COKE.
Hewlett Packard. Handley Page. Horse Power. Harry Potter. Hollow Point. Haptoglobin. Hindustan Petroleum. High Power.
It's all the same thing.
I wish Glenn Beck would reach out to this guy and mentor him a little bit. He could do a lot of good.
They sold them for a short time at Costco in 3½ lb. bags. Of course when Costco realized that everyone wanted to buy them, they stopped selling them (typical of Costco). They now sell them at BJs in 2 lb. bags and at Publix. I am working on getting 20 or 50 lb bag. I obviously have not yet hit bottom.
When each addict reaches the point of complete surrender is widely varied based on so many factors, that no hard and fast rule can apply.
Furthermore, I believe that not only does that initial surrender have to be made in order to be successful, but also has to be made over and over again.
As for me, I make that surrender at the beginning each morning when my knees hit the floor and I pray to God for one more day.
I knew to a high degree of probability this would not end well. There was a reason this guy was homeless, and fame wasn’t going to act like a magic wand to make it go away. I prayed Mr. Williams would use this opportunity for a real chance to change his life, but I wasn’t betting the farm on it.
Pirate pitcher Dock Ellis had better control over his addictions. He pitched a no-hitter while tripping on acid.
I am sorry, but I am not sure any FReeper could stay at some rehab suggested by Dr. Phil.
Dr. Phil is a liberal POS that I am sure suggests some of the most weird rehab places in the country.
I would probable slink away too.
“Rehab is just a bunch of talk anyway.”
I have to disagree with you. Rehab can help those who want to be helped.
I will go out on a limb and assume that when you think “Rehab” you think of where a celebrity goes when the SHTF. I submit to you there are plenty of anonymous people that go to a rehabilitation facility and it begins a life change.
That life change has to maintained after one leaves the facility, however.
He will not be the first to throw away with both hands, a chance at a normal life. Dr. Phil said if he doesn’t go through rehab it’s adios pal.
Obviously Dr. Phil is not a serious therapist.
Addiction is a cruel disease.
The useless bit of debris calling itself "Ted Williams" is the voice of MSNBC and their abysmal "Lean Forward" promotional effort. He's a commie 'RAT to the core and like all Marxists just wants to live on Easy Street supported by government programs.
Go away Ted...just go far, far, far away. Hope to hear from you again...
