CLEVELAND (AP) -- Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich (koo-SIN'-ich) has settled a lawsuit against a Capitol Hill cafeteria over a split tooth he says he suffered when he bit into an olive pit in a sandwich wrap.
Kucinich said Friday the lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount that reflects out-of-pocket costs.
The lawsuit filed in January in Washington had sought $150,000 in damages from companies involved with the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria.

Dennis Kucinich and wife
The Longworth House Office Building cafeteria during the lunch rush.
Why one should make their own sandwiches.
The misses is 5'6" right?
Out of pocket costs my foot. Taxpayers pay for everything for these people.
That pic of him and his wife makes him look like a little boy.
Why is it that all the short men seem to desire power positions: Kucinich, Hitler, Napoleon, Rahm Emmanuel. lol
He must be hung like a bear.
$150,000 for breaking a tooth?????
So, how much did the Garden Gnome shake ‘em down for ?
1.he is much shorter than her
2.he is goofy looking; she is a beautiful, lithe, redheaded bombshell
3.he is a lot older than her (31 year age difference. shes 29, hes 60)
4.she is feminine. he is
feminine
5.he has unicorn and rainbow politics
In the military, the LAST people in the world you want to piss off are the guys making your food.
He really does look like a Tolkien character. LoL
You know, an olive pit shouldn’t break a regular tooth with normal chewing. Chances are the tooth had a crack or weak spot in it already. Not the sandwich’s fault, I’d venture.
Or, he can lick his own eyebrows.
But I’m guessing there’s some sort of prehensile tail here.
“People who see us together understand they see our connection. And its not like Im some ditsy young thing and hes an old fogey. He has the wisdom of an ancient and the energy of youth. Dennis says to me, Ive never seen myself as time-bound. When you make a connection on a soul level, age is not important.
quotes from his wife, Elizabeth
Garden Gnome?
I was thinking more like Hood Ornament.
In that pic, he looks like Mr. Spock with AIDS.
We'll check back with you when you are changing his Depends.
Last night on Fox, it was pointed out that Kucinich appeared on Neil Cavuto’s show the same day or night that the pit sitch happened.
House aides dish on unhappy meals
“The House has a new workplace morale issue on its plate: lunch.
Staffers are so unhappy with the value meal offerings at House cafeterias that lawmakers spent much of a hearing last week grilling the Houses chief administrative officer about them.
The value meals five bucks and change for a meal and a drink are supposed to appeal to lower-paid Hill staffers who cant afford to pop for more expensive lunches, such as sandwiches that go for nearly $8 a la carte. But staffers complain that theres not enough variety in the value meals and that the quality is less than theyd get at the same price from a fast-food chain.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committees Legislative Branch Subcommittee, called the situation obnoxious during a budget hearing last week.
The way the value meals have been instituted is one meal per day for the whole cafeteria. There are about 10 or 11 [food] stations but only one affordable option, she said.
Restaurant Associates, the private company that has run the House cafeterias since 2007, did not respond to requests for comment. But it has a seven-year contract, according to Dan Beard, House chief administrative officer, and that has some lawmakers talking about bringing in some competition.
Our staff are dedicated employees and they cant afford to eat every day downstairs, Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.) told Beard during the hearing. We should probably have at least one vendor like a Subway. Five-dollar footlong, five-dollar footlong whatever.
Complaints about cafeteria food can have a high school ring a point staffers acknowledge even as they make complaints about the cafeteria food.
What they charge for the food in any of the House office buildings is obscene, said one staffer, who has resorted to making a lunch of random side dishes at $1.25 apiece. Whenever I go to Longworth with my friends, we say, Look at the lines. Look at the prices. Its like the worst throwback to your old high school cafeteria.
Another aide said some of the House Value Meals are better than others.
Some of them are delicious; others are pretty gnarly, the aide said. If they served the gyro meal every day, I would absolutely eat it every day. If they keep serving French dip, I will boycott.
Essentially, you get what youd expect, House aide Ken Willis said. That said, I do not recommend the French dip sandwich value meal in Longworth. Lets just say it sits a little heavy.
