I think most of the fires are out now. There hasn’t been that
much wind today. When I got out of the car at work in Midland
this morning, I could smell smoke in the air, though.
It was a horrible accident caused by the thick smoke. So sad
about the deaths. :(

Sad news about the deadly accident caused by wildfires...This morning the winds were fierce here..all quiet now..
Last night we had a storm that moved through quickly. ANY rain was welcome.

It was awful. It’s truly a wonder more weren’t killed or
injured. These fires are just scary in the high winds. One
town north of Lubbock had to be evacuated because of one.

I sure do thank you guys for your thoughts and concern. Well, it rained all day and stayed cloudy but the thunder stopped. When I found out I couldn't go anywhere I managed to put a huge pot of vegetable soup on. It simmered several hours and the little taste I had....its delicious.
I ran out just a few minutes ago to go by the post office and there in the West was the sun....I said "Mr. Sun, where have you been all day?" It peeped through right before time for it to set! I hear tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, oh yes!!
I may get back on after I have dinner!

cold and icky to get out for anything!

I just read news reports...so many homes lost...It is a miracle no one else died.
Red Flag warnings announced for fire danger just now on the news. not us but 5 nearby counties.
