Working late... play by play would be welcome for those without TVs...
Letterman announced Rand Paul b4 commercial - then had some putz on from the Carnegie Deli ...
Now back to commercial ...
Dave showed his new book.
He showed up in jeans and a jacket and Dave poked fun.
Dave pointed out that Al Franken is his “mentor”.
Al Franken told him Letterman isn’t funny....don’t be funnier than Letterman.
Dave asking what “Republican” means.
Rand says “living within your means”.
Dave asks about Tea Party. Rand says you have to go city by city.
Rand says Tea Partiers tell him that if they vote to bankrupt, Tea party will vote out.
Dave asks about “Democrats”
Rand says, “Democrats ALWAYS spending too much money...Republicans only sometimes spending too much money.”
Dave asking what happens if we keep borrowing.
Rand says, Tax, borrow or print....trying to explain ...Dave interrupted.
Rand saying, Grow the private sector and shrink the public sector.
Dave asks if we’re hurting the middle class?
Rand says no ... private sector does everything better... like late night comedy.
Dave saying public sector holds all middle class jobs......we’re hurting.
Rand says no ... we leave much to the private sector...we should have only the public sector doing what it absolutely NEEDS to do.
Rand says public sector inefficient.
They get different signals....the public sector isn’t accountable.
Letterman is back ...
Paul is pluggin’ his new book, “The Tea Party Goes To Washington” ...
Stupid chit-chat right now ...
Paul tells Letterman he stands for fiscal responsibility - living within our means ...
Paul sez DEMs ALWAYS spend too much money - points out the $13T debt ...
He sez he favors expanding the private sector - it does a better job growing the economy than the government ...
Letterman keeps asking why Paul doesn’t want to soak the rich - prevents Paul from getting his point across ...
The End ...
