A flock of ten flamingoes have met a brutal end at a zoo in Eskilstuna in eastern Sweden after a curious anteater broke into their compound and clawed them to death, leaving a further five birds nursing injuries.

It’s for sure there are many hundreds of people praying for her. If that doesn’t produce Help, I don’t know what will.

My mother doesn’t like to take children to the big theme parks until they’re over 8. She thinks it’s too much and too tiring for younger children, and they don’t enjoy it nearly as much as they would if they were older.

Redhead sent me a box of books Monday and in the bottom of the box was a frog half-mask. If I put it on just right, it covered my nose and my mouth lined up with the smile lines on the “cheeks.”

My younger sister and her daughter and grandaughter came yesterday, to take me with them to shop, and I put the mask on to open the door. My bad. The little Mugger got to the door first, turned and bolted to her mother. “SCARE ME! SCARE ME!”

When I took the mask off, she came to me, put her arms up and said, “Uppies, Nana*. Uppies.” She put her little arms around my neck and said, “Scare me, Nana.”

But she was my girl for the rest of the visit.

*Nana is what her gramma called me when she was first learning to talk. It’s been going for three generations, now.

I think I agree with your mother. Not to mention the fact that the Disney characters are really small when the little ones see them at home, but the scare is there at the parks when the little characters become larger than life.

Talk about a “SCARE ME!”

Awww. You never know what’s going to upset a little child. Frank doesn’t like the trash truck, even when he’s upstairs and can only hear it.

The storm last night woke him up, and when I opened the closet door, he was standing up saying, “What is it? What’s happening?” I told him it was just some noise and lights, and he had “More milk now!” and then went back to sleep. Nothing to be afraid of when you have Edna Puffin and Panama Iguana.

Oh, when I was taking him up to bed last night, I asked, “Who are you going to find in bed?” and he said, “Jakey! Jakey in my bed wif my bankit! Meeeew!”

Good point about the size difference. I really need to go to Walmart now, and return a book to Union library.

Back from the laundry room. I was a few minutes later than usual, so right after I got started, two other peeps came in. I’m glad I’m done with the undies, but I need to back tomorrow and wash clothes and sheets. I didn’t realize I was down to my last one...(I have eight sets of sheets...all flannel.)
I’d rather wait until Friday, but I have to go to the post office Friday. Maybe I can wash on Saturday...maybe.

I’m back from the Walmart. Later I’ll go by the Post Office, the library, and the Dollar Store, as well as picking up Tom.

The church is collecting flip-flops for a mission in Sierra Leone. The pastor said the people there pick up parasites and diseases walking barefoot, and a few hundred pairs of flip-flops will save some lives.

I’m tired, but I still need to hang up the clothes. *sigh* I let the laundry pile get too big. Now, with me walking two or three times a week, I’m always exhaused when I wake up.
Takes me back to the days when I was working and had to walk a mile to the bus stop. That was hard, but walking that far at the end of a long day was murder.

I’ll bet it was!

Frank was here whining a few minutes ago. I’ll bet he needs his nap. Ash is whiny, too, because we expect her to eat dog food.

Poor Ash. She is so deprived.

Undies are hung in the bathroom with care. The exhaust fan is on, but I suspect even without it, they will be dry by the time I’m ready to go to bed.

Is Frrank napping?

Yes, Frank went to sleep and was deposited in his bed with Edna Puffin, but no catz. Jake must be in a window; I can hear him muttering about how there are birds out there.

I’ll take your new socks to the PO shortly, so you might have them on Friday.

SOX! I love sox! My favorite kind has been discontinued, so I don’t think about them much. Except when I wear holes in the bottoms of the heels.

The book is returned, the socks are mailed, and the flip-flops are purchased. Frank was still asleep when we got back, so I had a nap, too. I feel like a giant dog fell on me.

I could turn the ac on, I guess.
