I think I mentioned this to you befor, my grandfather was a cop too and was stationed on Belle Isle during the '50s where they kept the horses....I'd always get a ride on one when I came to Detroit to spend the summers with my dad and grandparents then spend a day on the island with my grandmother, topped off with a ride on the river with the Harbor Master guys.........Life for a little kid was cool back then.
Yet cops direct traffic at the stadium where they wave hundreds of folks who have been drinking the whole game and before in the tail gait party, out on to the streets of philadelphia. Amazing...
I too am shocked at the complicity here. Do you people not know that police are trained by the federal government to seize anything of value they can figure out is in the car, or can get the occupants to disclose? Especially cash? That is a violation of both the Fourth and Fifth Amendments. But most cops these days don't even swear an oath to uphold the Constitution; they are just tools of an ever-encroaching police state.

The problem with your methodology is at some point you will screw up (the illegal sticker was legal) and the bigger case relying on the evidence you got will be thrown out.
There are far more greater things wrong with this methodology. Kidnap and hold for ransom some driver for an "illegal sticker"? Really? Is this really what we want in society? Here we have a LEO who sees the Constitution, the highest law of the land, the foundational confession of this country as an impediment and something to be made subservient to his ego and vanity - all at another American's expense of liberty and property.
When SirFishalot confessed to stalking and fishing expeditions someone using a legal system so convoluted and impossible to perfectly observe to effectively deprive another American of their God given Rights, my initial thought was "and they wonder why we hate them". I'm hoping that SirFishalot is merely musing hypotheticals and doesn't actually employ this abomination. I would think with budget crunches and talks of union busting, that the LEOs would wake up from their stupor and realize that they are actively losing the PR war and the public will be less likely to agree to their continual demands as long as they try to convince the public that they are our enemy by their increasingly thuggish actions and publicized statements.

The statement made by "Gene Eric" was "Why submit if it’s not required by law?" The ONLY way your over-the-top statement would make any sense is if the sentiment were expressed in regards to the officers who clearly overstepped their legal bounds. By confiscating property by declaring it "evidence" and damaging property because they couldn't control themselves, they are acting as a law unto themselves.
Maybe if Gene Eric has a pattern of expressing things like "Hey! lets rob stores and shoot people! Freedom, Man!" I might accept your wild and irresponsible libel of "supporting anarchy and rebellion". Do you have photos or other documents showing Gene Eric promoting anarchy? Are you exempt from breaking the Ten Commandments and bearing false witness against Gene Eric? Is this an appropriate place to post the "Beam vs Mote" scolding from our LORD? You are guilty of the hypocrisy of the Pharisees that was condemned (Luke 6:41-42). Maybe we can levy the charge of being guilty of the Sin of Matthew 5:22
Some might say that you are in violation of the orders of Church Discipline. First of all, you have yet to show how you are in spiritual authority over Gene Eric, you have failed to go to GE privately with this complaint, then if resisted, failed to elevate it to the elders and then to the whole body. Where is the exhortation delivered with grace? (Eccl 10:12, Eph 5:29, Col 3:16; 4:6 ) This assumes that GE is even a Christian. If GE is not a Christian, then what good is posting Scripture in the feeble attempt to exhort a non-believer and one who is already condemned to hell-fire? Are you so lacking in understanding of the doctrines of repentance and sanctification that posting random out-of-context Scriptures in violation of Matthew :6 and 1 Cor 2:14 is somehow going to motivate salvation? Or is it false works of legalistic self-righteousness (the sin of the Pharisees) that you seek?
Are you preaching a gospel of self-righteousness and works? How is blaspheming the Gospel supposed to be morally superior than observing that the LEOs are violating their oaths and oppressing their fellow Americans?
Judging by another LEO Freeper's post stating that tailing a driver for five minutes will almost certainly result in finding at least one infraction, its most certain that you too are "promoting anarchy and rebellion" every five minutes you are behind the wheel of a car - or are you perfect and without sin?
Same with the TSA and the welcoming of serious affronts to personal dignity in the name of fear. Too many in our time live in a state of irrational fear, including too many Freepers.

Why are only law abiding citizens expected to abide by law? Why are tens of millions of illegal aliens here, and why does law enforcement and government kiss this asses?
Law abiding citizens must obey and properly identify themselves....Meanwhile, tens of millions of totally undocumented illegal aliens, drive, vote, work, collect welfare, avoid taxes and are all aided and abetted by the same government, which in turn forces the legitimate to subsidize them.
Yet legitimate tax payers must obey and pay? How long do ya think this charade will last?

Video is often seized so that it can be "misplaced" should it have evidence damaging to the cops.
IMHO, it is because they see it as a problem for "other people". Sooner or later, they'll get jammed too...
