The same night Dancing with the Stars finalist Bristol Palin got drunk for the first time, she also lost her virginity.
According to the Associated Press, the reality television star reveals in her new memoir, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, that she slept with ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston during a camping excursion. The 20-year-old, who now has a little boy named Tripp, claims to have woken up all by herself in the tent with no memory of what had happened.
Palin, a Candies Foundation abstinence spokesperson, says former squeeze Johnston talked with his friends on the other side of the canvas while she tried to figure out what had gone on. When she asked Johnston about having intercourse, he said they wouldnt do the deed again until they tied the knot.
Things didnt work out this way, as Palin says she and her man became intimate again soon after the camping trip. Palin, who had been on contraceptive pills to treat bad cramps, finally realized she was pregnant in 2008 after taking eight pregnancy tests. (Levi Johnston to write memoir.)
When she told Johnston that theyd be having a child, Palin writes that he responded, Better be a (expletive) boy.

Yet her parents let her go on an overnight camping trip when she was 17.
Birth control pill for cramps? Yeah, yeah. Mom should have had her on the patch or implant since she obviously couldn’t handle taking one pill a day. You would think Bristol could have managed that particularly after she became sexually active. Boyfriend is a moron, but ultimately the woman is responsible for her own decisions. (Get drunk, sleepover with boyfriend, irresponsible with birth control.)
I feel worse for their son, Trig. He’s got two immature idiots for parents. They may ultimately mature and be halfway decent parents, but they won’t get much smarter.
I cannot imagine why she felt compelled to tell the world about it!
“Selling sex is the definition of the word.”
All sex is sold. There are just different payment plans.
Or, she told them she was spending the night with a girl friend? Oh, no! A teenager has never done that.
One of the nicest girls in my H.S. got pregnant our Jr. year. She was 16...and she had good parents. So did the boy...and they are grandparents today.
Teenagers will be teenagers. Levi is exactly what a lot of 17 year old girls would be attracted to...James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause" comes to mind.
If anything this will only build more support for Sarah. I think it was Rush who said “The media didn’t make her, so the media can’t destroy her”.
The double standards that the media is a little nauseating, though.
I know you are legally correct. But just like with DUI, the decision to do something that would impair your judgement (get intoxicated) should carry some weight as to one’s responsibility.
There are guys that will take advantage of a drunk girl, but some also will have impaired judgement themselves. However, it doesn’t change the outcome.
I know I made some bonehead decisions in college and put myself in a bad situation because I had been drinking. Like in Natalie Holloway’s case (and presumably that NY coed missing in Indiana), it can have fatal consequences. It went a different way for Bristol, but she put herself in that situation. “Blaming” someone else is immature & counter-productive. Putting it in print is just stupid.

flu·ni·tra·ze·pam (fl-n-trz-pm) n. A benzodiazepine drug that is illegal in the US but is used elsewhere as a hypnotic and in anesthesia. It is popularly known as the "date rape drug" because its ability to cause semiconciousness and memory blackouts has led to its association with unwanted sexual encounters.
More as a cautionary tale.
Ping.
You may be on to something there. Since she went after Republicans in Alaska for ethics violations, the Pub establishment is likely worried about her.
Trig is not the name of Bristol’s child. That is her Mom’s baby.
Uh... no one compelled this Palin to WRITE A BOOK. She "planted" the story to hock books.
Little Tripp deserves better than to have the laundry of his conception aired before the world by his mommy. She's an embarrassment. I cringe for her parents.
Make that “hawk books” rather than “hock.”
Yes, it is possible she lied and told her parents she was spending the night at her girlfriend’s house. Most parents would be driving her there and talking with the girlfriend’s parents about the arrangements.
There is no excuse for a high school student camping out overnight with her boyfriend.
You never vary from your anti-Palin nonsense, but here is a comment on the book.
The book title is Not Afraid of life, get it? The book, written by a mother who is our most well known national abstinence spokeswoman, and the mother of the second most famous, non-aborted child, and the daughter of Americas most famous pro-life mom, has written a book for her audience of young females about her journey.
When you are 20, and a combination of abstinence leader, famous for not having an abortion, yet also the most famous young single mom in America, all at the same time, then there is probably a book length story that you may want to share with your audience of young girls that you are striving to lead to abstinence, and to becoming pro-life.
My personal guess is that the book will be a recommend for conservatives.
