U.S. weapons fuel drug violence, Mexico's president says (urges reinstatement of AWB)

As Mexico approaches its bicentennial, Mexico's president says his country is fighting significant security problems -- many of which are fueled by U.S. policies.

"We live next to the world's largest drug consumer, and all the world wants to sell them drugs through our door and our window. And we live next to the world's largest arms seller, which is supplying the criminals," Mexican President Felipe Calderon told CNN en Español Friday.

The 2004 end to the U.S. federal assault weapons ban gave criminals new resources, he (calderon)said.

"They gained access to powerful firearms that they didn't have before," he said.

President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have repeatedly publicly acknowledged that the United States plays a role in drug violence.

"It's not only guns; it's weapons, it's arsenals of all kinds that come south," Clinton told the Council on Foreign Relations Wednesday. "So I feel a real sense of responsibility to do everything we can. And again, we're working hard to come up with approaches that will actually deliver."

Theory: Calderon knew what was going on. Obama knew what was going on. They were working together. they conspired to strip away the rights of law abiding American citizens by smuggling guns into Mexico and then using those guns as "evidence" to support their agenda, the disarmament of America.

And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

Screw Calderon. I’ve get a better idea. We build a damn fence and he uses his military to keep his people in HIS own DAMN country and out of ours.

Up to now, “gun control” legislation has always backfired on the DemonRATS.

Guess they want to see if the umpteen-thousandth time is the charm.

Well I urge him to secure his northern border and stop the flow of illegals. (and that has as much chance of happening as the AWB getting through the Republican Congress - Heck, they couldn't even get it through Pelosi's Congress)

Gee, and we thought "gun-walker" and "fast-and-furious" were scams to bring back the AWB.

Boy, do we feel dumb now -- NOT!

Perhaps Mex should be talking to the ATF & FBI about this rather than asking that new and unnecessary restrictions be placed on non-felon US citizens. They might also consider cleaning up the drug cartels too. At any rate, despite the TV talking heads, F&F was all about generating data to disarm us.

Only under The Putz would another country demand the U.S. change its laws to suit them.

If Calderon is so worried about all these problems, maybe he’ll help us build the fence.

Ah, let's not talk about the massive DESERTION rate by the Mexican military, Calderon. Since 2005 the military has lost about 150,000 soldiers through desertion and the majority took their weapons with them.

Ever wonder WHY the Mexican government doesn't have ATF do a check on 90 percent of the guns they recover? Because, these guns will trace back to Mexico's military (or law enforcement) or to other foreign countries that got them under Foreign Military Sales or from taking over the government (think: North Vietnam over South Vietnam).

I was thinking along those lines. What he should do, to keep those guns out, is close Mexico's border with the US.

Another Mexican interfering in our internal affairs. Same BS, different day.

The fact is if we militarized and sealed the border and had laws like they have in Singapore concerning drug trafficking, the problem would dissipate.

Guess which politician is most vocal against sealing the border and the death penalty for Mexican drug cartels?

President Calderon.

"They gained access to powerful firearms that they didn't have before," he said.

BS. The only solution is to make the border more secure so that illegal aliens aren't going northbound across the border and these weapons aren't going southbound across the border. Then we can see if there is arms traffic coming into Mexico from the south or overseas.

This is BS! Maybe if 1/2 the Gov’t officials in Mexico weren’t on the Cartels pay roll.....Or if the Regular citizens of Mexico had the ability to defend themselves from Cartels with firearms!

Since a healthy percentage of American-made weapons in the hands of Mexican cartels were originally provided to the Mexican Army and Federales through USG-to-Mexican government assistance programs, we should take up Calderon’s demand and cut all taxpayer-paid aid to Mexico.

I notice that El Presidente Calderon never mentions all of the human smuggling that is happening in the U.S. Mexican border. The pollos pay over $2,000 per person to the cartels. The human smuggling business is huge and it is the official policy of the rotten Mexican government to encourage it. Do you think Calderone cares about the 35 people packed into a Ford Econoline van? Does he care about the Mexicans beaten, murdered, and raped by his “heroic” smugllers? As long as he gets his slice of the money pie he is happy.

Pure BullHillery

But by all means, call for existing law to be enforced against every agent and official involved in the conspiracy.
