On the main page of the New york Daily News site is this poll: "Who would make the strongest GOP presidential candidate to run against Obama?"
Results so far:
Rick Perry 6% Mitt Romney 1% Tim Pawlenty 1% Newt Gingrich 6% Michele Bachmann 8% Rick Santorum 16% Herman Cain 6% John Huntsman 0% Ron Paul 0% Sarah Palin 53% None of the above 1%
I watched McCotters’ speech at the Iowa Straw Poll.....it’s was a good speech but the delivery was somewhat underwhelming. I have researched the man, listened to him in an interview and I come away with the thought that he is a highly, highly intelligent person that would fit in any position in the next G.O.P. cabinet or even V.P.
Ames is all purchased votes, and thus means even less than the meaningless online polls.
“Rather than get absurd with your petulant gainsaying bullsnot, let’s agree that Palin was the first current practitioner to coin it’s use on the campaign trail, and Cain has followed suit.”
LOL - such language! I didn’t realize a little good-natured teasing would cause offense. Sarah would probably have just smiled - she thinks a lot of Herman and has said so on more than one occasion.
He campaigned a few years ago against Johnny Isakson for Senate. So I have no idea who first started using that common saying, in a campaign (or otherwise), nor does it matter. Sheesh.
BTW, never said I was a fan of Dr. Phil (I’m not :-)
No, your comment about "Dr. Phil" just inadvertently notified everyone on FR that we were reading the posts of an "Oprah" watcher.
LMAO!
(BTW, I was just kidding too! What an amazing conincidence, huh?!)

When I was younger and Oprah was newer, I used to like her because of the guests and authors. But either I grew up or she became obnoxious or both :-) She got really full of herself and very into the blackness thing. Haven’t watched her for years, and I’ve known a lot of people over the years who said the same thing. She’s done a tremendous amount of good for countless folks through the years via charity and job creation, though - I’ll give her that.
Hey, we all go through phases in the maturation process, right? :-)
I suppose the truly gifted are more innately resistant to that process than are others... I've often thought that if, when I die, I still feel like a 17-year-old inside, I will consider that my time on this mortal coil wasn't completely wasted.
When I was much younger, we had a saying, "Never trust anyone over 30." Time being the cruel Mistress that she is, that saying loses all its punch when by necessity it becomes, "Never trust anyone over 80..."

Or how about “Never trust anyone UNDER 30”? Seems fairly appropriate nowadays, in light of all the brainwashed kids who helped put BHO in our WH.
:-)
